We didn?t expect to see a restaurant in the Volcano National Park and were pleasantly surprised. Great selection of food and... drinks, including cocktails. The service was very friendly and prompt. Our order included burgers, kalua pork flat bread and macnut crusted fish and chips. Everything tasted great and was at the right temperature. We enjoyed the views of the volcano fromour table. After seeing the volcano we had worked up an appetite and found Uncle George?s Lounge. It was fairly busy and it showed in the... service. The flat bread was awesome!!! The chicken/garlic sauce pizza was ok. Paid extra to have mushrooms added - they werehard to find. Soda was $4.00. Ordered the Caesar salad which turned out to be underwhelming and the size of a side salad. Thehostess was great! Read more

Had a great time. Love when a national park has a lounge offering. Uncle George?s was able to get us in before noon and we got a... spot right by the window. Service was fast and efficient. Friendly staff. I really liked the creative drinks and the view wasfantastic. Vibe was good with lots of patrons and music in the background. Read more

5 stars for the gorgeous views of the Halemaumau Crater. We came here late afternoon for a quick meal and had Wild mushroom... pizza, Volcano House Pasta and edamame. The pizza was good but the pasta felt a bit undercooked. The thai chilli spices on theedamame was a nice kick to it. There is also a lounge area and an espresso bar in the restaurant where you can just take in theviews of the crater. Read more

Walked right in with no reservations on a weekday around 1:30. Got sat by a window with a view of the crater and felt fortunate.... Food was solid (3-4 stars) and portions were generous. Cute presentation with the fries in a little basket. Appreciated themocktails on offer and local sodas. Good selection of offerings on the menu. Service was efficient. Glad to have this spot fordecent, filling food while visiting this national park. It's located just a short walk across the street from the mainvisitor's center and gift shop in the Volcano House hotel. Read more

My family and I ate here for dinner, and the experience wasn?t the best. Multiple dishes we ordered were undercooked. In fact,... the lobster tail that came with one of the dishes wasn?t cooked at all. You can see in the picture that it looks more likecrawfish than a lobster. It looked everything but appetizing. When we expressed that the fish (main part of the dish) wasundercooked, the waitress told us that the fish can be eaten as a sashimi. I payed $40 for the dish, so I expect the dish tocome exactly as described, which is fully cooked. The sashimi plate we ordered tasted faintly of gasoline, so I do not recommendordering it. When I notified the waiters, they did as much as they could to make things better such as take the undercooked fishback to the kitchen to be cooked. The service was great and I could tell the servers were trying their best. The environment wasnice with a live music performance. However, for the price that you pay, I?d say you?re paying more for the environment than thefood. I wouldn?t say that it is worth it for the quality of the food you receive. Read more

I had a really great early dinner. Was say right at the window, so I had a great view while eating. Everything I had was great.... I had the fried chicken sandwich with Hawaiian coleslaw, the ice cream trio with chocolate chip cookie, and a root beer. Theservice was great as well. Would definitely go again. Read more

I write this review because I want to make people aware of this place and the RICE. My partner and I are still talking about how... amazingly good it was and will compare all others to it. There?s a lot of complaints in the reviews about reservations, so I?dsay, plan ahead and if you don?t get a reservation don?t blame the staff for your poor planning. Just imagine if you work at theonly restaurant inside of what right now is a very busy national park and during a pandemic when capacity has been cut, it can?tbe easy, so show some compassion. If you are lucky enough to dine in enjoy the view, it?s surprisingly fresh and you might evenget to experience a nice cool breeze roll in and drop the temperature 10 or more degrees. To add, the prices are great for allyou get. Makes for a perfect meal after your hike around one of the many trails in the park. Read more
