Great restaurant, with a great atmosphere! The food was on point as well. I had the red snapper and jerk chicken, which were... both delicious. The fish was seasoned well and fried just right, and the jerk chicken was moist with a crispy skin and just theright amount of spice. Although the prices were a bit on the higher end, every else was an amazing experience. We celebrated abirthday here and they came out with a big light up sign and a sparkler, definitely left the celebrant with a big grin, as wellas the rest of the table. An easy 3 star restaurant. We scheduled a reservation and when we (3) walked in we were so happy to have an energetic ambiance... right by the water but were almost instantly let down. We did not receive 1 of the 2 appetizers we ordered, it took numerousrequests to receive a second drink, and our server was entirely concerned with a table of 8 next to us, but paid NO attention tous.…. It took us SO long to get a new drink, our bill and any amount of attention. It took numerous times of waving and askingfor our server to actually receive attention. At the end of our transaction, Jay (I presume the manager) was apologetic. We hopethat a few kinks can be worked out because they have a wonderful location, but service definitely did not match the prices onthe menu. Read more
I had lunch with my family at Don Coqui today, and we had the most amazing time! The ambiance and view is beautiful, the food is... awesome, staff is courteous and attentive!! Firstly, the town feels like a little Puerto rico then you get to end of a street and think you have come to an end of the road... when you see a sign “Don Coqui” then you enter into their own secluded area which is beautiful! Such a view, the smell ofthe delicious food and the music playing. I could have not been more satisfied. Fernando B was a great host! Everyone waspleasant and made it a great experience! We celebrated my son’s graduation. Love love this place! Definitely recommend andwill be returning soon. Read more
Took my wife and son for our 28th wedding anniversary. Had a great time and were treated like it was our special day again. Food... was good, service was very attentive and courteous. Manager Victor could not have been any nicer. Surprised us with somedesserts, champagne and even a sparkler celebration. Can’t wait to go back and sit along the Hudson. Read more
Had a birthday ???? here for my girlfriend and her sister (twins). I chose this place since i first met my now wife in a Don... Coqui in Astoria wich is now closed. Dining here was a great experience. One of the best ????. Server was excellent, veryattentive and courteous. Food was great ???? I highly recommend. Read more
I just left Don Coqui on the Hudson. Big shoutout to Fernando. He was very attentive to my party if 5. He gave great drink... recommendations & honest recommendations for the dinner. We got about 5 appetizers & main dishes. There were no complaints. Wewere outside in the heated tents & it was nice & toasty. Very endearing on today’s Fall night. Will be back w/my crew. Read more
