Went in at 8:43 understanding that they close at 9. One staff member tells me it?s all good, the two black girls up front tell... me that the kitchen closes at 15 min before the rest of the store. Which to me is really stupid and unprofessional. If acustomer comes in while the doors are still open, you serve them the full menu with a smile and integrity. I blame themanagement that was closing. My wife had a tough day and we needed a night out. So, we came to our favorite sushi restaurant. We had a wonderful server,... Allie, who had her own drink menu, of which we sampled several. Incompetent Gross Expensive. Although the preparation was good, the ingredients are subpar, sparse, and lacking. Legends roll is... no legend. If there was soft shell crab in it, it had left the building years ago. Couldn?t? find it, couldn?t taste it. It wasvery heavy on the spring mix relish that looked and tasted more like a chimichurri. Bitter sweet with sparse mango and nothingexceptional or even average. Good Times roll. Description says ?make it last? and I will?it?s the last time I?ll ever order it.Or eat here for that matter. You can even say first and last time. Solid. Same thing, as before?bland, what fried seafood? Belowaverage. They should spend more time on the food and not the kitsch. Cymbal lights at tables dirty and splattered. Bench boothseats are like they hadn?t been replaced since the 70?s as the cheap black naugahyde was broken up, cracked, and missing chunksof ?hyde?. Enjoy that on bare legs in summer. Sat looking at the front entry divider/catch-all/seating booth with dirty tablecleaning rags and bottles of spray cleaner on the ledge just above a customer?s head. That is definitely a hit from the HealthInspector. Obviously the health regulation classes are a fail here. Does anyone have a certificate? At least one person on staffis required to have an updated one on site at all times open. Napkin dispenser half empty, did not work properly as the springwas broken. Had to dig into for napkins on deep bottom. Waitress couldn?t get order right. Served us a cucumber salad that wedid not order. After being told they were out of Seaweed salad she tried to sell us that. We said no, she brought it anyway.Refused it. Table across from us refused a dish they did not order too. Upsell problems? Was in Hattiesburg and decided to check this place out. Great music, friendly staff and the food was AWESOME! Got the Crispy... Wontons and they didn't disappoint! Crispy outside and delicious cream cheese and crab inside. Crowd Surfer roll was alsoexcellent. Highly recommend! Read more
I went to this sushi place with my friend. My friend is the one who suggested this place, and I am so glad that we went there. I... can still feel the sauce toppings on the sushi we ordered, it was absolutely amazing, like the way we wanted. We ordered twosushi rolls and it was enough for two of us. This is a really cool restaurant. It's a bit dimly lit, with classic rock decor, and a quaint, yet very nice bar. Definitely one... of the best places in town to go out for a quiet date without breaking the bank. Fantastic for college students! You may want tolook for somewhere else if you've got a big party, the restaurant doesn't have lots of room for parties over 5. The food is goodand the staff is knowledgeable and fun. Interesting take on a sushi bar. Rock music pulsing through the dining room with pics of ppl from the RnR Hall of Fame...or if... they aren't in the Hall yet, they will be. Been twice, service was good both times. A little slow the 2nd time, but they werevery busy. Sushi is above average, but nothing earth shattering. Very cool area in Hattiesburg with a lot of options. Walked in at 11:05, waitress took our drink orders at 11:15. Explained they had a large party in the front room. I?m good with... that. 11:20 took our order. 11:50 still no order received, I asked how much longer she?s explained she had other tables thatcame in before us, that didn?t bother me either but I asked then why did four other table get served that came in a good 5 to 10minutes after us before we did? Her explanation let me see how much longer. Then I hear your order isn?t ready yet. I meanhonestly how long does it take to make 3 Sushi roles? Waiting 45 minutes for 3 roles is unacceptable.
