Not the easiest to navigate in a wheelchair. Don't really have a menu just a big chalkboard. I get that it's the whole school... House theme, but is it really that hard to have a simple menu of flavors and compositions of your ice cream, hopefully with alittle blurb of why people should eat there? Organic, hand scooped, locally sourced, none of the above just really good icecream, anything? Wasn't able to really see the flavors or know what I was getting from the name alone, also was upsold on amultiple scoop combination when all I really wanted was a chocolate shake. Not trying to hate on a fledgling business, justoffering my experience and thoughts. Read more
Was just there with my wife and son. I walked in to awesome smiling faces, great atmosphere and a cold air conditioning.... PERFECT Meghan helped me pick out the Brownie S'more flavor, and I gotta tell ya, it's the best ice cream I've ever had! ThankYou!! Read more
School House Scoop is my favorite ice cream shop when I want to indulge myself in a creamy, flavorful, pick of whatever you want... assortment of ice cream choices. They offer the standard assortment of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry to the extreme flavorsranging from decadent chocolate, bubble gum and birthday cake ( for the kiddies ), cheesecake varieties, extreme strawberry,raspberry swirl, pistachio walnut, assortment of sherbets, to my favorite, coconut explosion. You have several choices oftoppings and can have your pick of the day on either a regular waffle cone, chocolate dipped waffle cone or in a cup as Ido. If you are looking for a flavor adventure in your dessert experience, Schoolhouse Scoop is a place to try. They do ice cream,... simple as that, but the combinations you can enjoy changes day to day and you can try a bite of another flavor with the "extracredit" they offer. For me being a dark chocolate lover, their Zanzibar is the best and hard to beat. Located on the main roadHwy 61 through Hastings, it's an easy place to access for a special treat. I'm pretty picky about my ice cream. I want it to be bold and unique, with strong flavors. There's nothing worse than getting... ice cream that sounds good, but is basically just vanilla ice cream with toppings stirred in. That's why I *love* SchoolhouseScoops. The ice cream is uniquely good. The flavors are intense and memorable. Also, the ice cream has the perfect consistency,softening down into the waffle cone as it's eaten. This school is cool. This local gem is a must stop when we are in Hastings. With 32 flavors available at a single time, they... have wide selection of ice cream flavors available that rotate in availability. We have always found the staff to be courteousand friendly during our visits. Please keep in mind that they do have a seasonal schedule where they are closed during thewinter months. At the time of this posting during the pandemic, the flavor options are posted on the front windows and there islimited seating inside with several tables and chairs outside that are cleaned frequently.
