Claysville has a long history of a untique place to visit. The service was 5 stars ,they try to hire local high school kids... which are professional, quick and very kind. Food hot and good and was not disappointed. Will spread the word a good place togo to. Read more

Go there, Take Cash, it's good. It's a family style restaurant, fried chicken or ham with fixings. Get it for one, two, or the... whole family. They also serve desert, which is basically obligatory if you've made it through your meal. You won't bedisappointed. Also cash or Check only. Read more

This place is amazing. Everything we ate was fantastic. There are a couple of things I wish we knew before we went. First they... only take cash and check. So if you are like us and rarely carry cash be prepared before coming. The second thing is to have areservation. This place is not very big and given how good it is a lot of people are there to eat. Now that we know the ropes wewill definitely be going again. Read more

They have very tasty fried chicken. Really good mashed potatoes and scrumptious gravy. Their cole slaw is excellent, a sweet... vinaigrette dressing with poppy seeds. Home-made desserts are hard to resist, even harder to decide which one to have. Read more

Went here for the first time and the reviews are correct. The food is hot and fresh and the service was too notch. We had the... fried chicken and ham dinner. The fried chicken was great, really juicy and the breading was perfect. The ham was cookedjust right and tasted great. The waiters and waitresses are all young ladies and men and I haven't seen any better serviceanywhere. They really hustle. There hours are limited so be sure you call for a reservation. If you are riding the KatyTrail stop by its really worth it. I definitely recommend. We will be back. Read more

If you are trapped in a world of pavement and devices, take a short drive off of hwy 63 and you will find yourself at Claysville... Store. Adorned with wagon wheels and more than likely a line out the door, the aging building with its fading faux brick tinsiding will probably leave some wondering whether the drive was worth it. Number one, get reservations. Number two, comehungry. Number three.... you need to like chicken, or at least meat. If you are a vegetarian... you will need to eat sides ordessert. That being said, the chicken is pretty damn good. You get a choice of plate or family style. So if you want just 3pieces of chicken, then get a plate. If you are really hungry, get the family style where you get all you can eat. They areserved with green beans, biscuits, mashed potatoes, cinnamon applesauce, and cole slaw. You could also get it served with ham,or the special (ribs, etc) for a little more. Oh, and number 4, bring cash or check. no cards. Despite being busy, we wereseated quickly. Served quickly and were out the door in an hour. We did not stay for dessert, but saw an impressive list of piesfor only $3. All in all, a great visit, not far off the beaten path. Plates are 9-13 bucks, family style is 3-4 dollars moreper person. So it?s definitely affordable!! In a nutshell, it is EXACTLY what you read about online, oh and the chicken ispretty damn good.
