This place is an outstanding hidden gem of a Mexican restaurant. It's small, and the building could be a touch off puting to... some less adventurous eaters, but that just adds to its feel. It was like eating a meal at a little cantina in small town ruralMexico. The portion sizes are ample and the prices very fair. But the real standout is the food itself, as it should be. Themenu is a mix of standard fair that Americans would recognize and the more authentic and exciting stuff, but everything ishandled with care and isn't toned down or altered to suit squeamish diners. La Casita del sabor is dishing up authentic Mexicanstreet favorites right alongside traditional entrees and they're here for the crowd that knows how to appreciate the real dealfamily recipe Mexican cuisine. Delicious delicious delicious is pretty much the only way to describe this place. Is it small? Yes. Was it hot as balls inside... this restaurant today (in the middle of a heatwave)? Yes. Are there roaches? Probably, although I didn't see any. This is one ofthose hole in the wall places where they primarily speak Spanish but the food speaks for itself. Nice place. The food on the menu looks good. I only had a few minutes- being that I was with my son. We went for a quick bite... while my mom was at the hospital. Previously I went to a Jamaican restaurant, but like I said I was with a 6 yr old. Anywho- Sothe spicy beef tacos were amazing. Loved the fact that the beef was tender and in chunks/cubes. Seasoning was in point. Theregular beef taco was shredded and charred. He said it was good and he did eat them.???? The guy who took my order was friendlyand multi tasked easily. ???????? It was 17 bucks and some change. A lil more than Waterbury, but I do understand prices changefrom one area to the next. All and all 2.75 for a taco is great. Only reason I didn?t give them a 5 is the difference in themeat for the tacos. Make sure you get the red and green sauce. Haha no I don?t know the names. I just ask for the red and greensauce. Hands down, the best. So in love with this place. Best fish tacos I've ever had and they're LOADED with super fresh, lightly... fried fish. Amazing amazing amazing. I recommend my clients to them all the time. I wish they had more outside seating! I feellike they could totally make a cute little patio into the parking lot a bit with a few extra tables. My review is based on 5 factors, food, pricing, cleanness, wait time, parking space and friendliness. Many reviewers based... everything on food which personally I think is the wrong representation of the business and leave the public to experience thelocation themselves. Walking is we noticed the place was really small. Getting there by 5:15 and ordering 10 minutes later Icouldn't help but noticed the place was really hot. They only had 1 AC. The bathroom is really tiny and they only have one -keep that in mind when coming here. It took over an hour for us to get our foods. The food is good just as long you don't haveHigh Blood Pressure. They seem to love salt. Pricing is fair and they load up your dish - great for take home. Staff there arereally friendly. Place do have off street parking space. Overall, I had to give this place an honest 3 star. Read more
First time trying this place I was blown away. Went back for the same meal and was very disappointed. Rice/beans were great... but fried fish was burnt and inside was full of oil. Inedible. Read more
