10.22.22 We parked right up front on the street. It wasn't really busy when we showed up. Several 1 person and a couple,... couples. Our coffees came fast and service was fast. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Food also came out super fast and goodportions for the price. Overall a great experience. Read more

I have been coming here for over a decade- the best food, prices, and service ever- the owner has always been gracious and a... pleasure to talk to. This Morning I ordered a BB drove 15 minutes one way at 7:30- am to get it. Got it and it was acompletely different order I called and told them and the son Said no problem just bring it back they?ll make me another. Iinformed him that I could not just come back down there since it is not right around the corner, anyway- I drive back at 12:30they gave me my order I asked were they going to comp me the girl said she would have to ask her husband since they were givingme the order I was picking up free and that I didn?t have to pay for it. I informed her that they were not giving me anythingfree at that point since I already paid for it and was given a completely different order. After some mumbling from theson/husband in front of the customers this dude reached in his pocket pulled out a wad of dollars peeled off a $20 and droppedit on the counter and told me to have a nice day. That was some crazy sh?I guess he figured I?m just one person one customer andmy business ain?t sh? however what you do and how you behave and your total disregard for me as a paying customer will stayaround you can?t be that nasty and convince folks it?s a side job- that?s who this dude is. Bottom line you gave me theincorrect order inconvenienced me and then showed me the level of disrespect you have for yourself as a business owner. Yourmother- the reason why so many people continue to frequent this place would have had more grace and comped the breakfast. Mylast time here and I would not recommend anyone else. There have been at least three other times I got the wrong food- sausageinstead of bacon which I hate and won?t eat, pancakes instead of French toast which I had to toss and fried instead ofscrambled- but you know I just took those in cause I understand mistakes happen especially when they get really busy - and bes Read more

Overall, this place is a nice spot to get breakfast or lunch in a central part of Hartford. There was a steady flow of people in... and out so that was a good sign. But there are some things that I took note of... We moved to Hartford about 2 weeks ago, andthis is the first restaurant we ate at for breakfast. Since this was our first time, we didn't know to seat ourselves (there wasno sign) so we stood awkwardly in the entrance for a couple of minutes. The place wasn't overly busy, plenty of tables stillopen, no one acknowledged us or greeted us. When we decided to seat ourselves, no one came to the table for at least 10 minutes. But when someone finally came to our table, they were very friendly! We ordered a typical breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns) and it was fine. Afterall, it's hard to mess up breakfast. Read more

Restaurant was clean and quiet. The staff were extremely attentive with the added bonus of being kind. Food is home-style cooked... doesn't look like frozen pre cooked re heat able junk food. Read more

This is one of my favorite breakfast places. I go here with my girlfriend from time to time. It?s really simple and small but... the vibe is just right. Expectations are realistic, prices are totally reasonable and I always enjoy my meal. We had a tunasandwich and Ashley?s Special 2 for lunch. (Well brunch) service is always quick. The only suggestion I would have is that theyreally should take payments at the table. You have to get up to pay at the front register. Read more

It's divisive - you'll either love it or hate it. Dining in at Ashley's is a bit like if Jack Bauer were on Cheers. The... atmosphere is fast-paced and a little chaotic but with the hometown feeling of familiarity. The food is nothing extraordinary, standard American breakfast - it's a diner but it doesn't seem to front itself as anything more than what it is. As anout-of-towner I get the immediate impression it's a neighborhood favorite, but if you're a tourist - you may be expectingsomething very different from a highly rated diner in the heart of Hartford. I see a lot of negative reviews that mentioncustomer service - I recon this has to do with expectations. Don't expect full table service - this is a quick-order place thathonestly doesn't really do table service. If you need something you gotta just not be shy and ask, you just can't expect tableservice. Very small on the inside, a handful of booths and a bar to sit at (no alcohol on the menu). The staff is incrediblyhard working and it clearly giving it everything they've got - I was there on a server's first day but he still killed it. (Isee you white buzz-cut man!) Only four stars because cleanliness is something to be desired - the kitchen is open and quiteclean, my utensils were delivered in hot water and the chef wore gloves zd but the staff has never seen a mask at the height ofa global pandemic. :/ Read more

I had the big breakfast and had already eaten part of it before I remembered to take a photo. It was sooo good. We need to... protect small businesses like these. Diners are not a thing of the past. This is food that brings you back to a childhood inwhich you might have had breakfast at a small establishment after Sunday mass. Thank you so much Ashley for just being therewith good wholesome food! Read more
