I?m a relocated local who was visiting after actually considering buying the bar a few months ago myself and I?m more than... disappointed to se show it?s being operated, note on the door stating the business was opening at 8pm tonight only to find theDJ sitting in his car for an hour and the business still closed at 8:33 after waiting for 20 minutes, DJ called owners whostated they were on the way and would arrive at 9. I love this food. I used to get it when they were over on S. Main Street under the name Hope Restaurant. I was glad to find out... that they simply moved locations. I order takeout because now it's in a Hookah bar. I love the tangy Injera and the bouncyunique texture it has. The flavors are just so delicious. spicy, complex, meat perfectly cooked with a nice blend of spices. Theportions are very big and it's worth the price. Read more

Very good service. Small seating area for non-hookah smoking diners. Average Ethiopian fare, not up to DC area Ethiopian... restaurant standards. Read more

My first taste of Ethiopian food from Hope Restaurant did not disappoint! We ordered the Doro Wat and Kay Wat. Both were cooked... perfectly tender, and the spices used with each were delicious. The injera bread was also wonderful, especially with sauces fromthe other dishes. I will definitely go back again soon. Read more
