Ordered brisket. They ensured me it was fresh made that day. Was definitely reheated and not cut correctly against the grain.... Almost choked. If I didn?t already have it home I would have returned it. Macaroni wasn?t great either. Mayo slaw wasgood. UPDATE: I called to let them know it wasn?t fresh and the woman on the phone just said ?sorry sir that?s what my managertold me?. No concern for customer satisfaction. UPDATE 2: I drove back and showed the manager the product and he admitted ithad at least been reheated and gave me a much appreciated partial refund. Wouldn?t expect change though. Read more
We were in the neighborhood, so we gave their drive thru a try. The server was very nice, even to our barking dog. She even... talked to him and gave him a treat, making a new friend. We got pork and brisket sandwiches, and they were incrediblydelicious!! They were piled high too! The cost for this amazing food was no more than fast food prices! Only giving 3 stars because the food is good. But the service deserves ZERO STARS. Placed the order and didnt bother to tell us... or call us back to let us know they were out of one the items we ordered. Waited in the drive thru line for THIRTY minutes, onlyhad one meal ready and let me know they were out of the other meal that was also supposed to be ready. Worst service ever! Me and my mother have eaten here a few times and have never had a horrible experience. Well, one time, our... server disappeared for over 20 minutes, but other than that, it has been fine every time. We haven't been in a few years though.I don't know if they have new management and/or if it's the employees that prepare the food, but either way, I will never beback! I ordered To Go for 4 people and got 2 ridiculously small, pork potatoes, 2 orders of okra and 3 extremely smallsandwiches. First of all, the sandwiches maybe had not even a half teaspoon of bbq sauce on them, and I was not going to pay forextra, the 2 potatoes were so small and over cooked with very little pork on them, the bread tasted stale and the okra wasalmost too soggy to eat. Not to mention, as horrible as the food was, it was very expensive! If I had not been exhausted fromworking and felt like it, I would have taken it all back! I have been a server on and off and worked in food service for 20 plusyears, and I have never been this unsatisfied with my order or seen anything as ridiculous as this! I had to give review onthis, it was that bad! Maybe one or two items in the order being wrong, I can get over, but all of it was just sad. The results may have been better if I hadn't rolled in at 5:45 on a Monday evening. Seeing several cars in the parking lot so I... assumed that's usually a good sign and it would be a wait. Get inside and the restaurant is empty and one lone gentleman lookingat a to go menu. I waited patiently as several people walk in and out of the bar area into the kitchen not acknowledging mypresence until I finally raise my hand and ask if they're open for sit down dining. The lady says they were and to grab a seat.She sat across from me as I ordered which I find inviting and helpful, some may not. I started off by asking for a sampler styleplatter which I was informed they no longer have then I asked for ribs, they were out. So I settled on a chopped pork plate anda smoked sausage plate with my sides being fries, okra, mac n' cheese and baked beans with sides of garlic bread. Pork was notchopped but pulled and a bit dry but had a good smoke to it and the sauces were very good and complimented it well. The smokedsausage in the other hand was prepackaged smoked sausage that was obviously heated up on a flat top and after a couple bites Ihad to stop because there was an almost rancid rotten hint to the smell and taste. The baked beans were a one bite and done dueto the intensity of the onion flavor and the okra and fries were both frozen. The mac n' cheese wasn't all that bad though otherreviews say differently.
