We were passing through Harrisburg, and my husband is a big fan of Pubs, so we thought we would give McGrath's a try. We have... pretty high expectations when it comes to Pub's and good food in general. This place did not disappoint! I ordered the duck andthey just substituted more vegetables for Boxty, since I am gluten free. It was cooked to perfection, and one of the best duckdishes I have ever had. The pear chutney combination was amazing! My husband said the genuine shepherd's pie (lamb!) wasextremely tasty, and a generous portion! The prices are VERY reasonable. We came on a Wednesday. It was quick service, andalthough the server said she was new, she did a wonderful job, and was very helpful! Would definitely recommend this place. Read more
I want to give it a 3 star as the waitress didn't mention the closing time of kitchen. We visited the place around 10.45pm, the... kitchen closes at 11pm. This was the only thing I hated about, not BEING informed about the closing time. But, I give a 4 starbecause of the wonderful food that was served to us, we ordered a couple of appetizers. We literally missed the entrees. I heardthey have wonderful burgers. The place was small and service was quiet fast. Thr blarney bread is a MUST try dish. The bread isso soft and even with heavy cheese, it's so light, absolutely loved it. Read more

Found this irish pub in Harrisburg. Nice place, wonderful staff and great food. Started with a few Guinnis then the three of us... ordered a blt, pastrami and a reuben. All were served within 10 minutes and all were delicious. Will go back again soon tosample other sandwiches. Try it. You will like it!! Read more
If you want Irish pub food in Harrisburg, this place is probably your best bet. The food is tasty and generously portioned, and... the menu samples heavily toward pub fare (fish and chips, bangers & mash, shepherd's pie) and Irish takes on bar food (Irishhush puppies have corned beef and cabbage in them, for example.) If you're hungry, get the short rib boxty- it's delicious. Read more

The food here is outstanding, I smirk a little when people ask other bar tenders and they get sent here.
