OMG this is the best BBQ brisket in the area. We visit each year for the Rio Grande Bird Festival and this has always been a... MUST lunch stop. Today did not disappoint - they said they are currently under new ownership- so we wondered if our favoriteplace would change- but they delivered on all levels, excellent food, excellent service, great value. First time trying this place out, I had heard from friends it was pretty good so we decided to give it a chance. The parking lot... is pretty big, so you park and order at the window(or call ahead) they have a picnic area where you can eat or wait for yourfood. We ordered the carnivore plate which consists of 1lb of brisket, 2 small sides, 1 sausage, 1 jalapeño bomber and a choiceof 1 lg drink or 2 small(we opted for 2 and they were canned sodas) and chose corn on a cob & Ranchero beans for the sides. Wealso ordered extra bombers and 1/2 a lb of ribs(I forgot to take a pic). So my favorite were the bombers! They were filled witha blend of cheeses including cream cheese, brisket and wrapped with bacon...they were really good! The Ranchero beans were goodand they had a kick to them. The brisket was pretty good, some pieces had more fat than meat, but it was very moist i just wishit had a heavier smokey taste. The bbq sauce was sweet and thick. The ribs were good, they smelled and tasted great. My leastfavorite was the sausage, it tasted like it had been boiled or cooked in the oven. Overall not bad will probably be back forsome bombers. I stopped by for some BBQ and it was delicious brisket and chicken in the picture with Mexican rice and potato salad it comes... with bread some pickles and onions. I ordered a jalapeno popper and some sausage and they were also delicious. I recommend yougive them a try if you want some good BBQ. Read more

Excellent BBQ. Brisket was moist and flavorful. They have awesome jalapeno bombers stuffed with brisket and cheese. I will be... back. Note: bring cash or they will add a charge for using debit or credit card and I saw NO sign stating this. Didn't noticeuntil after I left. Read more
Brisket is delicious... Moist and smokey. Brisket tacos were great. Flour tortillas are made in the restaurant, and the brisket... sandwich is loaded. The bread was sweet and buttery. It took both of us to finish that sandwich. Brisket did not need BBQ sauce.Beans were very good, and I was surprised with how tasty the green beans were. Potato salad was mustardy, which I like. Unsweettea was weak and unimpressive. Staff was friendly and made good recommendations. Restaurant was clean and simple... Maybe alittle too simple. Read more
I from Chicago visiting for a few months and i just wanna give Pit Stop a BIG THUMPS UP, because I?ve tasted good brisket from... Chicago IL, Arizona, Miami, McAllen TX and a few parts of Georgia, I gotta admit that Pit Stop brisket tastes better thaneverybody brisket that i mentioned even Chicago?s.
