Fantastic spot for seafood. Quality of steamed & fried food is top notch, staff is friendly and the prices are better than what... I can find on MDI. License plates and car memorabilia are good for amusing antsy kids. They do a good job putting togethertake-out orders. Ruth and Wimpy?s has that old diner style with vinyl booths and cheap tables. There are shelves and shelves of beer bottles,... beer steins and cars. The walls are adorned with lots of license plates. Funny sayings have been printed and tacked to theceiling which were entertaining. Oh, and there is one men?s toilet and one women?s toilet for the whole restaurant so don?twait til the last minute to go. We arrived around 4:00pm and were seated inside promptly. Then we waited. At least 10 minutesbefore someone approached our table to take our order. BTW while waiting we became acutely aware of the wait staff saying?corner? every time they went into or out of kitchen. Our booth was right by the kitchen so we heard ?corner? every few seconds.It was annoying to say the least. How about fixing the corner??? Anyway, we ordered a couple IPAs and some sodas. For dinner, mysister and husband both ordered the fried haddock basket. Oddly, one came with two pieces of fish and the other only had one.The meal with one piece was on a smaller plate with less french fries. What the??? They were hungry so they just ate it anyway.The thin pieces of haddock were ok but the french fries were cold. My spouse had the very expensive clam chowder and equallyexpensive buffalo sauce shrimp. Neither of them was good so it was a costly mistake. The chowder was thick with potatoes andclams but was tasteless. The shrimp were spiral shaped, and they all looked exactly the same as if they came frozen from avendor. The shrimp had no flavor nor did the weird breading. I ordered the 1 ½ lb lobster and fries. They ?messed up? thelobster. I don?t know how that was the explanation the waitress gave me. They were nice enough to give me the option of waitingfor a new one to be cooked or getting the Lazy Man?s Lobster for the same price. I opted for Lazy Man. My husband I came here on our way into Sullivan and we?re not disappointed! The menu is a book. They have everything from... seafood to burgers to salads and a million desserts. The desserts are worth mentioning first because they were outstanding. Igot the raspberry lemon mini cake and it was a moist cake with tangy jams and buttercream. I would have tried others if we?d hadtime to come back. Also the Mac and cheese was delicious! It came with the haddock which was fine. This is a great spot to get some fresh lobster and clams! The curly fries was so good, too! We were excited to try this place after a recommendation, but we?re quickly disappointed with our visit. The staff wasn?t... pleasant or very attentive to our table. We had to wait for our table even though we had a reservation. The meal started withcold bread and frozen butter. We ordered the seafood chowder and French onion soup. The chowder was great. The French onion hadvery little broth and looked nothing like the menu picture. Salads were next, and were both good. We ate inside and there wasfruit flies everywhere. I ordered the lazy lobster, clams and salad. I was shocked to see my $40 lobster had about 2oz a meat.The clams were not the little necks I was used to, nor were they very appetizing. We also ordered the stuffed lobster tail whichwas ok. It was mainly breading, not the seafood we expected . Apparently it used to be stuffed with crab, but the waitressinformed us that?s no longer the case. On the side we had broccoli, baked potato and green beans.
