The service was fantastic, our server worked to take care of everything we needed. She was at the table regularly checking on us... ! She was very knowledgeable of the menu and told us about our order so that we got just what we wanted. Our server asked us hadhad we eaten here before and we hadn't we most definitely will be eating there again. The food was seasoned to our request, notto spicy ???? just right ! Amazing food and service. 10 out of 10 The seafood spinach dip was marvelously rich and if you are a bread person... that butter... bread was so light and crispy and wonderfully drenched in delicious butter. ???? Read more
Loved, loved, loved my visit to Don’s Seafood in Hammond. A staple seafood rest from Metairie (New Orleans), they did it even... better in Hammond. This was my first visit to Don’s in Hammond and WOW! Everything, and I mean everything, was first classand magnificent!!! Chargrilled oysters, fried catfish (with crabmeat on top, crab claws, and crab au gratin were among the bestI’ve enjoyed anywhere in Southern Louisiana. Nicholas’ service was top notch. I would ask for him next time and every time.Seriously, he provided the perfect balance of attentiveness and distance. The atmosphere was elegant but casual and friendly, and the food was simply outstanding. I can’t wait for my next visit to Don’s. I suggest you do the same soon. Read more
Great find for us traveling from Venice, LA back home to Memphis. It had a comfortable atmosphere with good service. Hostess and... waitress all very pleasant. Had a difficult time deciding what to eat they had so many great sounding dishes. Definitelyrecommend the charbroiled oysters! Insane. Apparently the crawfish were good although I personally ate the grilled salmon whichwasn't what I actually expected because I didn't read the menu. But it was very good. If you get a chance. Should check them outfor sure. Read more
The only thing about this meal was the toast that came out before the meal. I felt as if years of tradition was put into the... hands of teenage college students that couldn't care less. I had the seafood platter with a cup of gumbo. I liked nothing, zero. My spouse had shrimp and catfish and wanted to substitute the coleslaw for fries so of course, she got the coleslaw. Allin all, 2 courses between us, one cheap margarita, $83. Eighty-three dollars. Pass, Don's. You just aren't worth it. Read more
We had Blackened Alligator for appetizer ($16) Crawfish Etouffee ($20) , and fried crawfish ($20), Fried Catfish... ($14) Food: Blacken Alligator was tender (not at all rubbery) and tasted almost like chicken (no gamey taste at all). It wascoated with lots of spice (Italian herbs + Cajun seasoning + a bit more pepper). Fried crawfish was so crispy and tender likefreshly fried popcorn shrimp. So good. Crawfish Etouffee was devoured in seconds. The roux was definitely deep browned, not sureif it's with oil/butter. The flavor was good. Fried catfish had a hint of fishy taste and lemon. Service: our waitress wasawesome! Super friendly! Price: It was pricey. Read more
When we pulled up, there was a ton of cars in the parking lot, but surprisingly no wait time. The food was absolutely delicious.... A little overpriced, but really tasty. The blackened redfish was delicious. It was not spicy at all - it just had a goodflavor. The red beans and rice was delicious also. I probably wouldn’t order the macaroni and cheese again. Read more
For starters I had the Jacked up oysters and they were great! Then I had the Dungeness crabs that were fire. The beer was ice... cold and the bartender was a great waitress. Read more
