Fair prices for drinks, but that?s about it. Waited ~30 minutes for food, on a not very busy night; when it did arrive, the meat... still had ice crystals in it. Given you?re paying a fair amount for the food, it?s rather disappointing what you get, and a realhealth concern at how this can even happen. Had a very unpleasant experience at West End Pub yesterday (September 7th 2022). We sat on the patio and got our cold beer,... ordered an appetizer and nachos. Appetizer came right away (spring rolls) and we were later given a poutine when we ordered thenachos. Our waitress sent it back but not informing us if the nachos were coming. We waited 30 minutes for these nachos to comeout only to be more disappointed. The nachos were barely covered with cheese and when we dug around - the cheese wasn?t evenmelted in the middle. Amazing! Genuinely one of the best bars I?ve visited in Hamilton, staff was beyond friendly, helpful and courteous. Ordered... nachos, and mystery shots ( which where fun, tasty with a decent amount of alcohol) amazing portion for the price. The managerrachel was so beyond kind and genuine. Definitely making this my go-to spot. Atmosphere 10/10, drinks 10/10, staff 10/10, food10/10. If you?re looking for a good local spot to grab a bite or drink definitely check out the west end! July 15, 2022 - sadly a terrible experience, poorly managed staff with minimal to no care towards patrons. The draught beer... system should be serviced or cleaned (pungent odour). Food quality has decreased over last few months. Suggest to try othersurrounding establishments, until the owner improve the quality of service and food, if not, it would be an absolute shame. Will probably be going back because the location of a perfect walk, and the drinks are more reasonably priced than other bars... nearby. The food was alright, I had the pulled pork sandwich, my husband had the buffalo chicken loaded nachos. The nachos wereworth the price, tasty and a surprisingly big quantity, but just alright on the quality. The sandwich had a wet soggy bun, andwas a bit of a letdown. Good fries though! Tables were sticky and the place was a little worn-down. It also seemed sortaclique-y, where regulars and friends get special treatment. All in all pretty lively at 11pm, for a pitcher of beer and somesnacks it?s great, but not the kind of place for a late dinner. Read more
Went out on that gorgeous Tuesday when everybody was flossing shorts and t-shirts because we could! My server Cassandra was... amazing. I loved how she seemed proud of the food they were putting out (all home cooked meals, locally sourced ingredients), Ialmost bought the whole deal menu haha! Food was flavourful and very well priced. Local neighborhood pub. The fries are to die for. Wonderful atmosphere. Great find when visiting McMaster. Will return.
