Been on my list of must tries for some time. Perfect Sunday stroll down locke st and opportunity strikes. For about $82 the... family of four had 4 Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and 2 small sides hot mac and cheese and dirty fries. The Sandos werequite large Daughter could only eat half. And a true struggle for myself then men gobbled theres down. The mac and cheese wasdisappointing tasted more on the fake seasoning side. The dirty fries were also good. I must say I was disappointed in my sandoas apparently my fam too. The dando was very sweet, we are assuming must have been overly sauced coleslaw. Tasted more likespicy slaw then chicken. I honestly am not understanding the low reviews. We go to Matty?s more often than I would like to admit and it is delicious... every time. They are a busy place (which speaks to their popularity!), which means the food can take longer during peak mealtimes, so simply order accordingly. Read more

First time trying after the online hype and must say was only mildly disappointed. Fair price for portion sizes. Large... portions. Corn bread was 100% off the chain, rich and slightly crumbly when paired with the jalapeño honey butter it was goodto the very last crumb ... i could also add the butter to my morning toast daily!!! The dirty fries were tasty, not quite tomy liking however just me not loving overly cheesy fries. The chicken sandwich is where it kinda fell apart for me ...literally. First the size was daunting, second i ordered the B A T outta hell and expected it to knock my socks off with spice.It did not. The bun while a brioche and looked good did not stand up to the chicken. Period. It melted and became mush abouthalf way through and held zero of the extra toppings on it. I found the chicken breading over cooked, the deep fried avocadossounded good however made it to maybe one bite of my sandwich. The lettuce disappeared and the tomato didn't hold up. I alsodidn't really taste the sauce added to the burger. While it was an experience, if this is the standard of their chicken i mightpass eating here again. Read more

We were very excited to try this place and wanted to love it so badly but unfortunately The food is a complete... miss? Atmosphere, location, staff and overall vibe 5 stars no doubt. They have this part figured out for sure and we enjoyedthe whole experience up until eating our food. We ordered the basic sandwich, Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the Mac andcheese. The easiest way to explain the food was it was extremely bland and disappointing. The portion sizes are large and itseems to be more of a quantity over quality scenario here. I really think this place could easily be so much better if theyimproved the food. The Mac and cheese was watery and under seasoned a complete miss. Very bland chicken which is concerning fora fried chicken restaurant and the slaw on the Nashville sandwich was so sweet it was quite unpleasant. I would love to be areturning customer however I don?t believe that?s possible until some changes in the kitchen are made. They have a lot of greatthings happening here with room for opportunity. I found the low reviews from others because my husband and I had a fantastic experience on May 28. The fries (a small is just... fine for two) perfectly seasoned and fried. We got the basic sandwich both dark and white meat and they were delicious. I prefermore dilly pickles but that's just a personal preference. The service was fantastic as well. Food is ok. Very expensive for the quality of food. For the price I would have expected high quality items. The fries seem like... McCain freezer fries and were barely seasoned. Chicken was ok, more oily than average fried chicken and not very flavourful.Overall, disappointing but not awful. Read more

the chicken was good. meat was real tender (pause) and the spice was just right. problem is i ordered at 7:30 and had to wait an... hour for them to finish making my chicken. i was fasting all day too so i basically broke my fast an hour late ???????????. alsothe fries were really stale. overall it?s good but i would probably not pay $24 again for 3 pieces of chicken, some stale fries,and a sorry piece of toast. Before I review I should let you know I find Matty Matheson annoying but I can?t deny this past year I?ve ordered from the pop... ups and really enjoyed the food! I had the flaming Mac and cheese and the 2 piece hot chicken. All of their sides are prettyflavourless (I haven?t had the tater tots) but the Mac and cheese, potato salad and coleslaw are just ok. The chicken is greatthe hot is closer to medium. My suggestion is pick the fries and if they sell out of chicken go to The Ship for their chickenfried chicken same price and better quality!
