Reviews for Frisch's Big Boy in Hamilton, OH
Usually decent with a long wait (which I don't mind) but drive-thru menu was limited to soup, desserts and kids' meals. Also the... concept of chicken tortilla soup is lost on them as they throw the tortilla strips right into the soup so it gets disgusting andsoggy. At least make the limited items you do have palatable... Read more
Never fails when you need something quick and affordable. The staff could be a little more attentive when you walk in and are... waiting (sometimes we have to flag them down vs someone greeting us). Other than that, the kitchen staff is attentive to ordersand food is cooked to near perfection (most of the time). Read more
Very disappointing. I ordered curbside thinking it'd be quicker. I've been sitting in the curb side spot for 20 mins passed my... pickup time now. I'm just watching people order at the window and get their food. I called to see if it'd be quicker if I justpicked up through the drive thru and the lady said they would be right out. That didn't happen. Just got my food at 630 and myarrival time was 607. Read more
Absolutely the worst service. The guy who took our order you could tell didn?t really pay attention. When we finally received... our food after a 20 plus minute wait, it was wrong. Went back inside to let them know and the cooks, you could see them in theback complaining and goofing off. There were a few other people in line ahead of me come to find out their orders were wrong aswell. When we finally got the correct order the fish sandwiches were crushed down and the buns were falling apart because theywere soaked in grease. Literally the nastiest food I?ve ever got. All that For a $30 dollar meal. This is one restaurant thatwill not get our business ever again. Read more
I was once again reminded why I never eat at a Frisch's....ordered the breakfast bar...what little food was available was over... cooked and very dry. The food containers were empty most of the time, literally left hungry. Waited over 10 minutes for arefill....mind you there was plenty of staff, just all seemed to be wandering around doing nothing and they weren't crowded atall..... I know why now. I saw a customer wait over 11 minutes to pay their bill. Overheard a few other diners complainingabout the lack of food on the buffet, and stating that they would not be back. If the breakfast bar can't be restocked in atimely manner , it should not be an option on the menu. The breakfast bar was the only reason that I even considered givingFrisch's another try after about 4 years, and about 5 years before that. This location is very close to my home that I've lived for 17 years.. have eaten here only 4 times.....doubt there will be a 5 th. Read more
I go here all the time, I was shocked this time The salad bar looked bad and they burned the bun on my mother's fish sandwich... really bad. They did take $7 off my bill but for the way it looked I don't feel that was enough. When you're paying $12 for asalad it should be fresh and stocked I think. There was a lot of empty holes and not so fresh lettuce. It was 4:00 p.m. and notbusy. Read more
As a rule, I do not eat at Frischs. I've had so many bad experiences, and I only rarely give in to requests by my clients to eat... there if given a choice of somewhere else. The orders seem to always be wrong, or the food has been unappetizing. But we weremeeting someone today, and this seemed the best centrally located place. Surprisingly good food today. I ordered the chilispaghetti...a weird choice for me, but it was actually quite good, and a good fit for the weather. My friend had the soup andsalad bar, which one can get a free grilled cheese with right now, so a good deal. Good amount of snow last night. No salt nearor around the handicapped parking spots. Unfortunate parking layout, so we parked on that side of the building and made our wayto the opposite side where the entrance is...with our canes...it was quite slippery. Seated immediately. Told us we could goout the door near the handicapped parking if we wished. We decided to do that to skip most the snowy/icy sidewalks. Therestaurant was exceptionally cold. We put our coats back on to eat. Maybe others were going out of that door, and letting thecold in? The restaurant was clean. But it was also sparsely occupied. Between the weather and Covid, I guess it is really toughfor these folks. They've been around 75 years, so if you like Frischs, maybe show them some love. The girl who seated us(Amber), was also our waitress, and she had it going on. She was really on top of her work and took excellent care of us and allof the neighboring tables. She also bussed all the tables, brought out the food, and asked if we needed anything additional. Sheeven took my payme nt at the table. Super pleasant and made this dining experience FAR better than any I have had at otherFrischs in the tri-state area. I would have given 5 stars today if the manager had cleared the snow or at least thrown out somesalt. I know they are short staffed, but the salt should be one of the first things they do. A LOT of old Read more
Changes to the menu, new items but family favorites removed. kitchen staff rude to young server forcing her to send food out... that she asked them to refire due to being fried to point of not being edible. Chicken tenders rubbery and disgusting. Burgerswere dry. Very inconsistent. The young server seemed new but very sweet and did her best with our larger party. My familyfrequents this location for dinners and birthdays and this visit was very disappointing and underwhelming due to food qualityand menu changes Read more
