Got a very bad stomach ache after getting orange chicken, it was a late order idk how long the chicken is out for, I even saved... some and tried it the next day and regretted it. I ordered from them last night. I thought it was the restaurant across from the Hamden High school. I should have canceled my... order immediately. The shrimp dumplings were delicious. The wings were too. The egg foo young was inedible. I had to throwthe first patty out. I saved the second patty as I was going to return it and ask them that they redo the order. I spent $57,so I thought that would be an easy ask. I called today to tell them of my experience; starting with how the food was goodexcept the egg foo young which was burnt. She said "it is deep fried...so it is dark like that." I told her that I had beeneating egg foo young for 40 years and this was burnt. I know what char and carbon tastes like. This was burnt beyond beingedible. "Well, we have been selling it for years and never had a complaint", she said rudely. I told her "well, I'm tellingyou that it was burnt and I will bring it back and would like another one." She made it plain that wouldn't be happening. Imade it plain I would leave this review and that she lost my business forever. Not because the food was burnt. Anyone can makea mistake. She lost my business because of her attitude. February 2022. Had menu up on screen. Had a question and called. Woman answered. I asked question. Could not understand her... answer. Tried several times. No success. I decided to order. Pork in Garlic Sauce with NOT white rice. Dumpling soup. Pickup.Lunch menu. $16+. 20 minutes. Stopped 30 minutes later. Order ready. Paid. Thought the $ amount for the Lunch Special was toomuch. Pork/Garlic sauce: container filled 7/8 with, what was white rice, and a few sprigs of broccoli, possibly a few pieces ofonion or unknown vegetable, and 2 mini corns and NO garlic flavor at all and tough pork. Soup: had two double size porkdumplings (forgetting what they are called) and 8 ounces of soup. I know, because I poured the soup into a measuring coup. Thedumplings had very thick dough and a very little ball of pork inside. The soup was salty and had no distinct flavor, just salt. Aftertaste! Will I return? NOPE. Read more
Ordered $60 worth of food. Lady said card wasn?t going through. Tried another one and she said the same thing, so she didn?t... deliver my order. Come to find out the money went through on the first card. I call back to tell them so I can?t get reimbursedand they saying they didn?t take anything out. Won?t be back at all Read more
The food was barely OK! the service super slow, I ordered take out and they said it was going to take 20 minutes for my order to... be ready and had to wait 1 hour, at least they offered a soda for the long wait but I don?t think I?ll be back any time soon. Read more
Just ordered general tso combo and a boneless spare rib combo and there is a hair in one of the combos. I called to tell her.... Took a pic and told her we can come back. She said ?not necessary. Chicken & broccoli (2/5) : giving up after two tries. Too salty and the chicken is too hard - as in, need to cook a little more... in my opinion. (Please note that I have not tried their other dishes so this is a very specific review) Location: classicChinese takeout, there are few tables if you want to sit there. What can I say. The garden is the Meca of Connecticut Chinese food. The menu has a plethora of delicious options, whether it be... rice or meats you simply cannot go wrong. The fact that other Chinese restaurants open in Hamden and think they can compete withthe garden baffles me. Do yourself a favor and get into the garden. Read more
