Best seafood chowder and crab bisque in town! Both were so thick and creamy - totally worth the price. The lobster roll was... quite tasty too. Also got their coconut cream pie and Irish coffee for dessert - was a perfect end to an excellent meal. Musttry if you're in Halifax Read more

It is located at good location and the restaurant itself was very nice. We made a reservation for 4 at the restaurant. The food... was not good. I order half lobster platter with coconut rice, salmon, shrimps, and scallops. None of the food was good. Thecoconut rice was too powerful with the coconut milk make it hard to eat. The dessert was also not good. The only thing that isgood is the water and the raw oyster. Not recommend at all. Read more

Very nice seafood restaurant. I somewhat disagree with the $$$ rating, to me the prices feel quite reasonable, so $$. Standard... selection of lobster rolls, grilled seafood, chowder, mussels etc. It was nice to see oysters Rockefeller in the menu, broughtup some good memories from New Orleans. This spot is very close to the waterfront so skip the overpriced fast-food kiosks by thewater and come here instead. Very nice 2 level patio too. Read more

Previous Google review pictures did not do this place justice! I had two friends recommend this location and it came up in the... top 5 places to have seafood, but I was still unsure. Well I’m glad my friend and I went because it was one of the best mealswe have had in Halifax! We had the crab cake, oyster Rockefeller, crab meat stuffed, 1/2 lobster surf and turf, and the seafoodplatter. Everything tasted amazing; the flavours, portions and presentation were perfect!! The staff were also kind, friendly, and sincerely sweet! Cannot wait to go back and recommend this location to everyone I know who will travel out east! Read more

I did a lot of research on the best lobster roll in Halifax before coming here. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my... expectations. First, the lobster filling wasn't as much as I expected. It was only about 80% "full" and not bursting at theseams like in usual pics of lobster rolls. The sauce also wasn't spread evenly. I liked that the bun was lightly toasted andbuttered, though. The lobster meat itself tasted fine; it just wasn't enough. The nail in the coffin was the seafood chowder. It was a $2 upgrade but it tasted bland and lacking. There was also a very minimal amount of seafood (or anything, really) init. I had to wait almost 30 min to get a table on a Monday night. While it was busy, the servers still tried to be attentive soI applaud them for that. However, with a wait that long I expect near-perfect food but it was nowhere close to that. Read more

We shared a light dinner at McKelvie’s and it was worth the visit! To start, we each tried the Original Crab Bisque- it stands... out as a highlight of our East Coast Foodie Adventure and I highly recommend stopping in for a bowl. So rich and creamy withgenerous pieces of crab throughout. We also tried the Oyster Rockerfeller, Deconstructed Smoked Salmon and Lemon Thyme Mussels.Everything was excellent. A great, lively atmosphere suitable to families and people of all ages. Read more

We have been here twice. We had excellent seafood chowder, seafood plate, fish and chips, mussels, apple salad. I didn't have... enough sauce in the lobster roll , it was dry and not tasty. Twice our waiters forgot to bring the ordered dishes, but all thisis trifles. Thanks for the atmosphere, delicious food and fast service! Read more
