We had just checked into Home 2 Suites for the night and had asked the front desk where there was a good place to eat. They said... Hub City Diner. So off we went. Our dinner was excellent. Exactly as expected!\nThe staff, the owner and the food were all very good! We were greeted when we walked in and were seated... promptly. Our drinks were brought and orders taken in an efficient but not pushy manner and our food arrived quickly (thatshort order cook(s) we?re being kept on their toes) but managed without issue. When our food arrived, it was hot and exactly asexpected, no mess-ups here. The food is always great quality. Even though the menu is large the food is fresh. The owners take great care in making sure... everything is done properly. I?ve tried various items on the menu and I?ve never once had an issue. I eat a little different andI can always find healthy choices to accommodate my preferences. Well, we wanted to go somewhere different to eat, so since we hadn\'t been to the Hub City Dinner, we decided to check it... out.\nInside, it looks like your typical dinner and appeared to me to be clean.\nThe menu was huge with items. I said to my wifethat I heard that many chef\'s have said that a restaurant with a menu with a huge amount of options really doesn\'t have greatfood because that can\'t focus on quality.\nI consider myself Reuben Sandwich connoisseur and always get the Reuben where one isoffered. So, I ordered the Classic Reuben with fries and the wife ordered the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich with fries and coveredwith gray. We asked the waitress for well done fries, you know crispy, and even pointed at the dark brown table top and saidthey could be that dark.\nWe received our meals and my Reuben Sandwich was down right inedible. The bread was not toasted, theCorned Beef was dark brown in color and half of it was tough and stringy and the rest was corned Beef jerky, hard and nasty.There was barely any cheese, sauerkraut, and maybe a teaspoon of thousand island on it. Not only was the fries not well done,they weren\'t even done and were mushy. Although I was hungry, I only was able to eat a third of meal because it was just thatbad, all of it.\nMy wife said that her Roast Beef Sandwich was good (there was a lot of gravy on it so I could not see the beefor bread), but said that the fries were under cooked and she only ate a few.\nA women, not the waitress, came over and took myplate away and could clearly see that most of the meal was uneaten.\nAfter we received our check we went up to pay and it wasthe same woman that picked up my plate from the table. See asked if everything was okay. Large over flowing plate of food, for a price that\'s worth it if not better.. food is like eating at home with out the actual... self cooking. Picture is of a chocolate mouse they sell. There ice tea is better than mcds and Bob Evan\'s.. family oriented,have a little bar area where you can sit alone. Booths and tables. Rest rooms are immaculate. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left, I wouldn\'t change a single thing. Prices are great. Employees are... great. Food quality was perfect and was delicious. Food was delish. The French toast was really good! I know not everyone loves scrapple but this was probably one of the best... I?ve had. It was a thick slice with the perfect crisp on the outside. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her eggs with cheese. And ifyou want a waitress that serves well, ask for Lisa! Well done Hub City! Welcome to Hagerstown! Read more
We had breakfast here recently and really enjoyed it. The bacon and hash browns were fantastic. Service was excellent! We were a... large party of 7 and our waitress didn\'t skip a beat. She did an excellent job taking our orders and splitting our checks.Also, she offered us drinks to go, which was a nice touch. We will definitely be back! Read more
