Reviews for 5 Brothers Taqueria (Hackettstown) in Hackettstown, NJ
Best tacos. The 5 Brothers Tacos are amazing. We'll go back soon.
Very tasty carnitas tacos. The corn tortillas were perfect and the portion of 5 filled me up. Green and red sauces on the side... were good too. Refried beans and rice tasty and large portion. Taquitos/flautas also good with well seasoned chicken and deluxetoppings. Not fancy inside but clean and nice. Read more
The food here is fantastic. The meat is clean, the ingredients are fresh, there is a nice heat in the spicy dishes, and... everything we ordered, including the tamales and the rice & beans, was a flavor bomb. The restaurant didn't have ac when we wentin, and as a result the door was open and there were a few flies buzzing around, but it could have been a temporary problem. Theplace is cutely decorated and byob, two strong "yay"s from us. There are one or two small tables out back if you'd like to sitoutside. The tacos would be perfect for a party platter also, along with the large containers of rice and beans tossed into abowl... delicious food, no work! Sorry, we scarfed down everything before I thought to take pics, but we'll be back...very soonand probably with a jar or two of sangria! Read more
I went to the new Hackettstown location in Hastings Square. ROBBERY. 9 tiny tacos and a cup of bland guacamole for $40??!!...... and an additional charge for a "non-cash transaction". "Out" of several items on a menu already lacking much choice. Honestly, I think I'm offended enough not to come back. Read more

The best tacos around. Great flavor, great ingredients! The tacos pastor are insanely good but honestly all their tacos are... excellent! Get the hot sauce also! Read more
The taco tortillas were awful. The nachos we got were soggy with not much meat, and the meat was over cooked. Fast service, but... you?re better off going to chipotle. Read more
I think its a bit unfair to make a blanket statement about a restaurants quality based on our first visit but I will relate my... experience. My wife and I asked the waitress "Is the red sauce spicy on the Enchiladas Rojas?". We were assured that itwasn't... "although the Verdes sauce was a little" she stated. With that being said, my wife got Rojas and I got the Verdes, satback and waited for our meal. Mind you we stopped two other couples at different place along the sidewalk leading up to therestaurant and asked "How was it?" Both sets of customers said it was good. When we entered I noticed that the place was, atbest, sparsely decorated except for the two large televisions playing Mexican music videos. There is mostly booth seating withvery few tables making it more IHOP looking than a Mexican eatery. I like to enjoy the decor as much as the food. We loveJuanito's in Washington and Don Joses in Netcong for their decorations as much as their food. It puts you in the mood evenbefore you sit down. So, low marks here for curb appeal. I was also disappointed that the obligatory chips with salsa wasn'toffered as an opener. These aren't expensive items to offer at no charge and considering the rather steeple priced menu, itshouldn't be to much to ask. Our waitress brought two bowls barely filled with a sauce, one red and one green. We were told itwas to put on our Enchiladas.....ok. our food followed soon after. It was presented nicely enough as you can see for our pics.As we dug in and the first bite hit our mouth we lit up from what I can only describe as much more spicy than we were lead tobelieve it would be. Yes, I get it, it's Mexican food.....but when we ask this question in other restaurants we generally getwhat is described. Not so here. We would later me told that due to the chef being from an specific area of Mexico, this was thereason it was spicy......ummm, no. When asked if the sauce is spicy the correct response is yes. We might have o Read more
