This is my neighborhood coffee shop. They are always super busy, but, have friendly staff! Even at 6:00am! I stopped by for... coffee and a breakfast item and the gal at the window was very friendly and cheerful, with a great smile on her face! Once i gotto work i noticed the message on my muffin bag! Sadly, I feel uncomfortable here each time I come in the morning specifically Alex and Maddie create a space and energy that I... am I not welcomed. I see them treat others better. Idk if it is because I am a Black person but other baristas are kind andhelpful to me. But those baristas are also people of color. I know Gurnee has issues with prejudice, I hoped that with thetrainings that Starbucks did, it would feel different. I live in the area and this is the closest and only coffee shop & I don?twant to spend my money in a place where I am made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. So again, sadly I am not able to get mypumpkin latte because I don?t want my money going to places that I am not welcomed. It is 2022, ya know.
