My uncle said his shrimp low light was on. We dropped in at the Shrimp Basket in Gulfport, Ms. We we're seated right away and... the server Michelle was engaging and polite, as were the rest of the staff. She brought our drinks right away and helped withsuggestions on and of of the menu. My uncle had the popcorn shrimp basket and I had the clam jam. It was an overabundance offood part of which we took home for later. We've eaten here many times and never been disappointed. Thank you Michelle and thecooking staff for another pleasant experience. Staff is very friendly and prices are good. Unfortunately food is only decent. Steamed shrimp was hard to peel and tasted dry,... sign of old seafood. The catfish and flounder ?filets? were more like strips. Might of came on an off day, will try again whenI?m in the area. Read more

I?m a food connoisseur and was passing through Gulfport MS. The experience was awful. Eat at your own risk!! The okra and the... white fish was good. Kristen our waitress was also amazing and very apologetic about our experience and the incompetentmanager. I ordered crab cakes; they tasted imitation. I told the manager that I was expecting crab meat not imitation. Shesaid that they come prepackaged and if I had gone somewhere else it would?ve cost a lot more. That has nothing to do with thecost of tea in China. I also told her that I didn?t like the fried green tomatoes either because they were slightly burnt. Shedidn?t apologize nor did she fix it. I ordered a shrimp basket with okra. The manager brought me a shrimp basket with fries. I was eating some white fish and placed a piece in the basket she took the basket after I said I have fish in there. She saidthat?s ok I?m going to throw it away. (Lot simpler to bring me an order of okra). This time she brought out smallerundercooked shrimp. I broke a few in half to show her. She brought me 5 overcooked shrimp. I inquired about the amount shebrought back and she said ?that?s how many whole ones you had left.? This manager is definitely not a people person and lacksprofessional and leadership skills. Oh my goodness! Second time at this Shrimp Basket! We love it! ?? I had the shrimp and grits and yum!!!! Hubby had popcorn... shrimp basket! For a starter we had the 1/2 lb steamed shrimp! Everything was great! And Michelle made sure we were enjoying ourmeal and well taken care of! The Shrimp Basket is always a go to for us when we are in the area! Wonderful Service and Food! Cruising all over the southern states, we ate all kinds of food. We stopped at many restaurants. This one, i am here to tell... you, was one of the best. The place was crowded but Michelle (not Linda - since it's a good review) seated us quickly andtreated us like regular customers. We started with fried green tomatoes. I hadn't ever tried them. They were fantastic - andserved with both regular ranch dressing AND spicy ranch dressing. For my main meal, i ordered the red snapper. It was one ofthe most delicious things I've ever in my 52 years eaten. So dang good. It was served on a bed of rice that was amazing - andi don't even like rice! Wonderful dine-in experience! We had great, friendly service - everyone greeted us warmly and our waitress was so... nice. Absolutely delicious!! We ordered 2 fried Seafood Sampler baskets and a Shrimp basket. We enjoyed the flounder, friedoysters, shrimp, crab cake, cheese grits, corn nugget, slaw and hush puppies. A-1 customer service from start to finish. Lindsey took excellent care of us.She made us feel like family not just a customer???? To be honest, the entire staff were sweethearts.
