I had a very small Bornday dinner which ended up feeling perfectly intimate since we were seated in a separate dining room than... all of the other guests. My Sangria lacked a lot of fruit but was definitely delicious. My daughter had the strawberrymargarita. Most of my family had beef or shredded chicken tacos, which they enjoyed. I had the Cantina Nachos with shreddedchicken. I was frustrated because they were the last plate to the table but babyy they were worth it!! Thanks to our WaiterStephen for the great service! Always enjoy Nueva Cantina...great salsa and quac; tortilla chips are good; good drinks. Only downside this time: the enchilada... was not so good...just smothered in too much cheese and red sauce, could not even taste a tortillas flavor or texture in there. Read more
Short Rib tacos were uninspiring - tortillas were straight from the package and the tacos were served with gloppy refried beans... and ordinary rice that was hardly worth eating. Biscuits and gravy with no hint of Mexico were requested with over easy eggs butarrived with almost solid yolks. The two items arrived separately, with a five minute wait from when the biscuits were serveduntil the tacos came out. With the many choices for Mexican food in St Petersberg, this place is not worth the visit. Manypeople like the bottomless drinks at Sunday brunch but the food is not great. Read more
Especially for those lovers of tequila They gotcha cover up in there 72 + Tequilas for you to sample, I suggest you pace... yourself. I arrived late and the kitchen had close, so when the kitchen is close what do you do... Drink. And that we did, ourbar tender Steve was great! Now this is what I call a hearty Mexican food. Fantastic food, vibe and staff all around. Delicious birria with succulent short... rib and the tastiest au jus you?d ever have. Try the Mac n cheese with beef short rib?just delicious. Great service and a verydelightful hostess to greet you at reception. Must try the key lime brûlée if you?re there. Read more
