Fried Catfish was amazing, robust flavor, fresh and melted in my mouth, collard greens was perfect! I would have had a photo of... my food but clearly it was too good to wait. The decor was beautiful, a nice homage to the cuisine. Shout out to the hostessand Val who was our server. She was warm, personable and kept us updated on our food, she could tell we was ready toeat! Thanks for everything! The food was definitely MADE WITH LOVE!! Can’t get that anywhere else! Read more

We found this restaurant based on a Google search and we are so happy we did! The food was amazing (get the crawfish etoiffee)... and the service was top notch. Valerie was so kind and made sure to get to know each of our names, which she referred to us asduring our whole meal. Kenny came out of the kitchen to talk with us about the food and restaurant. They are still recoveringfrom the pandemic, so food is served in take away containers. That doesn't put a damper on the experience though. Everything ishomemade, including the dressing, which was made with homegrown basil, picked by Valerie. You are missing out if you don't eatthere. We can't wait to go back. Read more

Not only did the food have NO seasoning, but my boyfriend asked for NO CHEESE on his grits and they put it on there. NEXT MY... GREENS HAD A LONG WIRE HOOK INSIDE OF THEM!!! Luckily I spit it out before swallowing!! I cook so I know how to tell what foodis homemade and what’s not. THOSE GREENS ARE FROM OUT A CAN! NEXT the corn bread was hard, cold, and old. the lemonade tasteslike nun but SUGAR and diabetes! TERRIBLE. I wish I could give 0 stars!!!!! And what makes it even worse is we are from out oftown. That was a terrible impression!!!! Read more

This soul food restaurant is located near the St. Petersburg Warehouse Art District. It is a couple of miles from Tropicana... Field and next door to The Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum It has been a staple of the community for eight years. The portions are satisfying. The food is flavorful even when warmed up at home (do not forget your sauces… the bread puddinghas one as well as fish) Ask them to warm the sauce up that goes on your bread pudding…just a little…and pore it on (you arewelcome). The prices are competitive. There is ample parking in the rear. Currently they are only offering carry out ordering.Consequently indoor seating is not available. But, they do allow you to eat on their patio. I highly recommend giving them atry… the sweet potato fries were “to go back for” and the corn muffins actually had corn in them. There service waswelcoming. The order was brought out to the table (be kind and tip). Read more

I’ve been here twice and I’m not sure why I don’t go more often. The food is always super yummy. I had the Shrimp & cheese... Grits (excellent) and my Husband had the Jambalaya (tasty but very spicy) and we split a side of Mac n cheese(????????????) The ambience is wonderful, we enjoyed the patio. The service is very friendly and always attentive. We will beback! Read more
