Reviews for Hotel Charlotte in Groveland, CA
10/10 would recommend. They nailed an old time feel in the small and simple rooms. Top notch service. Good food and drinks... downstairs. Oh yea, and it?s close enough to Yosemite, which is also a nice place. Read more
We stayed at Hotel Charlotte for one night after visiting Yosemite. The hotel itself was really charming, with antique furniture... and a bit of an 'old western' vibe. When we arrived, we were greeted the the owner, who was incredibly friendly, who gave us ourkeys and let us settle into the room. The room itself was beautiful, and the bathroom had a large bathtub, which was a nicetouch, and appreciated after spending several days in tents. We were starving when we first arrived, so after we arrived, thefirst thing we did was to get dinner. The hotel had a nice dining area out back with lighting and outdoor heating lamps. Thefood was a little pricey, but was really good, and came with generous portions which more than made up for it. Given how hungrywe were, it was worth every penny. We had arrived for dinner early, but the outdoor heating lamps weren't turned on, but theowner came by and turned ours on just for us, and our 3 year old son was super excited about the fire. After dinner, when wehad returned to our room, the owner knocked on our door and handed us the toys our son had left behind on the table duringdinner, which was a small touch but also greatly appreciated. Over all, it was a great stay, and would definitely stay hereagain before/after my next trip to Yosemite. Read more
Fabulous! Beautiful hotel with very helpful team and lovely food in the evenings we were there. Felt like a real American hotel,... with added bonus of a choice of gluten free food on the nights the bar/restaurant was open. It was just over an hour to Yosemitevalley so for us it was perfect location. Read more
Lovely boutique hotel about 1 hour drive from the north entrance of Yosemite National Park (depends on traffic of course). The... room is pretty basic, but after 2 days of camping in Yosemite, it felt like 5 star ??. The staff are quite friendly and chatty. The hotel does not have an elevator so prepare to carry your luggage ???? yourself (only 2 levels so not too bad). There isalso a restaurant attached to the hotel where hotel guests get done discount. The food was quite good to our surprise give ourprior national park experiences! The hotel offer complementary muffins for breakfast and free coffee and teas at thelounge. The shower temperature fluctuated quite a lot in our room, so that is a small downside. Overall, it?s a great place tostay if you are visiting Yosemite and don?t want to stay inside the park. Read more
Staying at the Hotel Charlotte for a weekend getaway and it is very sweet. Highlights: super cute owners with a little girl,... EXCELLENT dinner at their tavern with a SOLID VEGAN meal! (Beyond sausage, tomato jam, carmelized onions, veg and side of veg.Absolutely perfect.) I mean seriously, where can you get a solid vegan meal in the middle of nowhere?! Fantastic bartender atthe tavern, very genuine and cares greatly about their drinks, very nicely decorated with rejuvenation lightening. Reallyfriendly staff, new sitting area out back that's very comfortable with solid music choices. It's a little rustic, super casualand chill but really comfortable with staff who are really happy business is back. Hands down, solid and extremely reasonablypriced given the area. Without doubt, this is a great option to stay. Everything we need to relax after slaying it in thevalley. Read more
We've always wanted to stay at Hotel Charlotte. We were lucky enough to book a room online following a cancellation on Father's... Day. One of the best hotel stays we've ever had in the Yosemite area. From the moment we stepped through the door, Finn was anabsolute amazing host. As you would expect with a historic hotel, it's the ambiance and charm that win you over. The room andbathroom were very clean. Internet works great. The lobby/lounge area has complimentary tea/coffee/fruit/muffins. Just a fewminutes walk to the local market and park. Our visit was a bit too early for the reopening of the tavern and beer garden, butthey intend to open soon. We can't wait to book our next stay! Just awesome! Read more
We stayed here for Yosemite Valley and it was a reasonable drive in and out of the park (1hr15m). The hotel itself is very cute... and cozy, definitely gives off strong mom & pop vibes in the best ways possible. It was clean and had a spacious common roomwith complimentary tea & coffee & muffins (breakfast). There was also a variety of puzzles and board games available. Overall,it was very welcoming and all the guests there seemed friendly too! Pro tip - the Mexican restaurant next door is absolutelyamazing! Read more
We stopped by the bar on our way from Yosemite. The bartender Beau was very nice, he showed me a guitar in the bar and told me... it's story, he was also nice enough to ask the owner Finn, who was also extremely friendly, if I could play; and Idid. Although I spent my time playing and singing with costumers I was never asked to stop and was shown a great deal ofappreciation. Thank you Finn and Beau! Read more
