I had a great breakfast at Matt?s place on Sunday morning. The wait staff is quick and friendly and attentive including... management. I had full breakfast menu item ,2 eggs, hash browns ,bacon , and French toast and everything was perfect! I highlyrecommend it if you?re ever at grand lake and want a good meal! Oooohhh Yeahhhh... Great breakfast. Chicken fried steak was delicious. Gravy was nice and peppery as good breakfast gravy should... be. Do NOT skip the waffle, you won't be sorry. Beatriz was a very attentive and friendly server. Overall, a greatexperience. Wait... just visited the bathroom... guys, the men's room is a disgusting mess. It literally looked like it hadn'tbeen cleaned in weeks, if not months. This is not an exaggeration. Restrooms are just as important as the dining room whenconsidering cleanliness. You have to give us a place to wash our hands. I have no choice but to drop my rating down a star basedon that alone. Read more
I can not say enough good things about this place! The customer service was amazing, everyone was so nice and the food was... incredible! I got the monte cristo and by far the best monte cristo I've ever had, my husband got the fried catfish and it toowas amazing!!! Will definitely be back! Thank you for the wonderful experience! Although we?ve lived here 2 years this was our first trip to Matt?s Place. Small, cozy diner but the staff was so friendly and... really hustling taking care of the diners - Amber was our waitress and she was fantastic! We ordered an appetizer, two entreesand 2 iced teas. The fried portobello mushrooms were top notch and I highly recommend. I ordered the chicken fried chicken andhubby ordered the chicken fried steak, both came with 2 sides and were fresh, hot and delicious. We had lunch here for the first time. Staff is friendly and welcoming and we had wonderful service. There were 4 of us and we... each ordered something different and all four of us liked our food. Portions are generous. Food is fresh and hot. Loved thefries. Definitely will return. Read more

First time here, was not disappointed. Chose the Chicken Fried Steak due to the pictures left on reviews. It did not... disappoint. Hand breaded, perfect thickness and seasoned and cooked to perfection. By far the best I've had in a great while.In a day and age where everyone serves a greasy overcooked chicken fried steak, they take the time to hand make it and itshows. Sides were fine, mashed potatoes were par for a Cafe. Gravy was good and the red beans and rice were very good. Servicehere was friendly, with being seated by what I assume was a Hostess. My waitress was very friendly and informative on the menu.This is a newer restaurant, with better than your run of the mill Cafe food. They have the potential to be a very nicerestaurant with some upgraded styling and furniture. Will be back often! Read more
My wife and I are in Grove Oklahoma for a couple of weeks and we are checking out the local restaurants. We had dinner at... Matt's place dinner tonight and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We had the fried pickles appetizer and my wife had chicken alfredowith a tossed salad. I had the chicken fried steak because of all the other great reviews of it and both of us absolutely lovedour meals! My two sides were green beans and fried okra and oh boy those were really good! Our server was Riley and we reallyenjoyed giving him a hard time and he evidently enjoyed giving us one back. We had fun and the food was great and now we arelooking forward to trying Matt's place for breakfast! We will be back. Read more
