The staff was very sweet but the whole building smelled musty and dirty. The odor in our room was bad enough that I had to use... some room spray to mask the smell. Our room was also not clean, the carpet looked dirty and there was dust/trash behind thedresser and under our bed. room was absolutely disgusting. we found a dead cockroach in the bathroom, the wall behind our bed was covered in mold, carpet... hadn?t been vacuumed in ages, bedding was stained, there was a layer of dust on everything and spiderwebs on the ceiling. i feltgross staying in that room and my credit card was double charged. staff was friendly, that?s the only positive. Friendly staff, be aware they don't accept Discover, service was good, was quick and easy, two things that I always looking for.... Location is great, 2 minutes from I95 and 12-15 min from Mystic, you can see that is a old building but they keep it reallyneat, everything was clean also the restrooms. Room was huge, was like an studio, we had a sleeper sofa, desk, microwave, fridge (didn't work and smell kinda weird), clean bathroom, super comfy bed. We had a great experience with this hotel. Positive: Staff was amazing, location was good,exterior was inviting. Negative: Our room was damp 24/7, it had a presence of... cigarette smoke, however the room was supposed to be non-smoking. Room could use some fresh paint and a new air filtrationsystem which may assist in removal of disgusting cigarette smoke smell. Read more
We just checked out of our wonderful 5 day stay at the Groton Inn and Suites and it was so delightful! The room was very clean... and large with a nice size TV and dresser. Our room had a seating area with a round table and chairs and a nice sizerefrigerator and coffer maker which were so useful to us. The beds were very comfortable in which we all agreed that we sleptgreat and had a good night sleep! We enjoyed going outside every morning and sitting on the veranda with our cup of coffee andmuffin while we enjoyed the morning sun with the other guest! Aside from the comfort of our room, we really liked the frontdesk staff which were available to us 24/7, they were very helpful in giving us directions and great advise on the best way totravel by train to NY and providing us with recommendations on where to eat. The room attendants were equally great and helpful,they would quickly say good morning to us and would go out of their way in being helpful in changing out our towels and takingour trash each morning. We found our stay to be very pleasant in the Groton Inn and Suites and would highly recommend thislovely Hotel! Read more
Our room smelled like mold like the unit must have been flooded at some point. The amount of trash behind the bed was unreal. ... The place wasn't clean or vacuumed. The only good thing was the employees were very polite and helpful. Read more
My family and I stayed over Memorial weekend, 2 rooms. We were quite happy with our stay. The beds were very comfortable, the... hotel was quiet and the staff (both night and morning) were very pleasant. Hotel was within 20 minutes to both casinos. Afterreading other reviews, I can say, our experience here was just fine and we'd stay again. Read more
This place was ok, the place is very old. It has a vintage feel to it. The rooms were standard but needs upgrades. My bed had... hair in it, that grossed me out. Also, the cleaning could be alittle better for the bathrooms. Read more
