Lived in Grimsby for over 20 years, had the original Amicis pizza my entire life. This is a well known establishment for the... Jersey style pizza. Unfortunately the new owners did not keep this trend. Will not be continuing business with them, hot wingsare not hot, pizza looks terrible, undercooked dough. I tried Amici?s after the ownership had changed to see how it compares to the original. Amicis has been in Grimsby for decades.... I was a bit disappointed to find out of a new owner and changed recipes. I just didn?t want to see another shawarma or gyrostyle pizza place. They do have that and it?s not good. Gyro is Greek and Shawarma is middle eastern. The gyro is the samespinning coagulated pre-made thing that everyone already has. Stay away. Our pizzas were made fantastic. They had a lot oftoppings. The crust is far thicker than the old Amicis so next time I?ll order thinner crust. Stick to the basics and you get afantastic pizza. The prices are fair and the service is good. I?m not sure why they ask for tips on pick up. This place doesit and so does Gino?s. I?m not cheap but come on, I?m picking up my own pizza. You?re not sitting me down for a meal ordelivering it to me. I?ll give this place 5 stars and hope they continue to separate themselves from the others. Grimsby is asmall town with a lot of pizza places. Gino?s ran king for a long time but competition is catching up. These small guys arebetter than all the chains generally. There is a bit of difficulty with parking here as you need to go the street beside it topark and grab your pizza. I?d like to see the selection on DoorDash to be similar to what you find online. Rating this a 3 to give benefit of the doubt. Both our pizzas were soggy and floppy, crust barely cooked pizza near cold after... picking up at exact time. Wings were mediocre. Both dips were great. Had high hopes and understand this is a small business sohope to see better of them. Read more
First time visiting since ownership changed. Ordered the shawarma pizza and three lbs of wings. Pickup was ready quickly and... both were good. The reason behind the two stars is the wings looked like there weren?t that many in the box given how much weordered Weighing with box and all on a kitchen scale there were barely over two lbs. I came here for the first time yesterday, it was so good that I came back for lunch today. I got the shawarma wrap made with... their amazing homemade bread - the serving was huge and loaded with chicken! I also got their home cut fries - yum! Today I gota panzerotti and it was so big that they gave it to me in a medium size pizza box! It was so big that I asked them to cut it inhalf - definitely a large enough serving for 2 ppl! I have decided that Amici's pizzeria has the best pizza in Grimsby. Reminds me of a place called fourth man in the fire back in... Toronto. The dough was really good. So was the sauce and the toppings. They use red onions which makes the experience so muchbetter. Clearly they know how to make a pizza. The side of garlic sauce was so good. Lots of garlic. This is one of the best pizzas I?ve ever had!! I ordered a Large pizza with Pepperoni, mushrooms and green olives and 2Lbs of... wings for $50. The quality is what counts in why I would agree to pay 50 dollars for a simple thing. Fresh ingredients and thechicken wings don?t get me started. Very very good wings, I would order the wings on their own if I was craving them. BreadedBuffalo is my go too flavour for them! I should?ve looked at the menu better for the same price it shows I could?ve gotten 3Lbsand a large pizza. Now I know for next time when I order again. I recommend this place to everyone in the area.
