I got the fried Cornish hen, Mac n chz, seafood okra & rice with dressing. The Cornish hen was very dry it didn?t have any type... of juice to the meat. The stuffing that the chicken had was just dressing. I thought I?d be something really good like thestuffed chicken from Ruth?s Chris Steak House. The chicken is made perfect. But the Mac n chz was really good very cheesy. Notchunks of cheese and didn?t taste bland. The seafood okra and rice taste pretty good as well. The dressing was good too. We got there right after they opened. There was a line so I thought the food would be delicious. I got the stuffed cornish... hen, rice and black eyed peas, yams, and seafood dressing. The Cornish hen was very dry. I couldn?t bring myself to eat muchof it. The rice was undercooked and the black eyed peas were undercooked and powdery on the inside. The yams were okay,nothing special. The seafood dressing had a bunch of shell pieces in it. For two meals we paid $30. I?d say the portion sizewas worth it but the quality of food was not. The servers were very nice but the lady that works behind the dessert counterneeds to work on her customer service. She literally yells at people for ?blocking the door? like people are just supposed toautomatically know or like people aren?t trying to get out of the heat. Honestly, a sign would be better than having her screamat people with her attitude. food was delicious. it was my first time trying fried ribs and they were amazing! tender, juicy, and flavorful without being... salty. the coco greens were sooo good! the staff were also very friendly. there's a few seats there, so I sat and ate while myfood was good and hot. 2nd best food I?ve ever had ANYWHERE! Definitely worth the trip/wait/price. This soul food made me feel like a winner.
First timer here. I?ve been stalking the IG page for the last few months and was finally able to get here! I went very close to... opening and it was perfect timing. In and out. Just let me say, no disrespect to the mac n cheese, but good gracious, thatCABBAGE IS FIRE?The cornbread was also really good. I ordered the fish, with a side of chicken and I personally liked thechicken best. Overall, the food is delicious. The staff was friendly. You'll have to take an extended lunch for this place. Lord, that line. It's cafeteria style but each person in front of you is... ordering like 10 custom personalized plates (cuz they give you options here and everyone is ordering for their cousins, grandma,coworkers, friends, neighbors, side piece...) and they either don't have a job or just don't care about their job or they gotthe okay from their boss cuz there is no way you're getting back in an hour. If you don't want to wait, you can order deliveryfrom the lady they have a deal with, it's like add an extra 14.99 delivery fee and then there is a 1.50 platform fee and thenthe tip. So is it worth it?????? OMG, yes. I cannot name everything that's good here since I haven't tried it all.. but thefried chicken, the fried pork chop, the bbq chicken, the bread pudding, the cornbread. It does not disappoint. When you visit New Orleans DO NOT MISS the opportunity to eat at Chicken?s Kitchen. The food is absolutely amazing. Honestly,... one of the best meals that I have ever eaten. Get there early, be prepared to wait (well worth it). In addition, their missionand concept is admirable and you can feel great about supporting this business.
