I have never really made a review, I?m not generally in the habit of it, however, THIS PLACE IS WONDERFUL. ABSOLUTELY HANDS... DOWN. The rolls were fresh, and the flavors were super well balanced. I 100% recommend the Hana roll and the Kimchee Tuna roll.The seaweed salad is phenomenal, as well. The server staff were all totally great. We sat at the sushi bar and the head chef wasthere, and he was a total joy to converse with. This is absolutely going to be our date night spot from here on out. Read more

Ordered sushi there recently, and while good, I could taste the sugar. I did not realize that sugar is added to sushi. I gave up... sugar, so I am sensitive to tasting it in food. Disappointing, but I am guessing most sushi restaurants add sugar to the rice.There should be a no sugar option for folks like me. Sugar hides flavor in savory dishes. Read more

The best sushi I?ve ever had. I go to other cities and try to find sushi that compares... very few do. It?s always fresh and... tasty. Their sushi rice is really a game changer. The service is incredible, everyone is so friendly. The prices are great forthe quality and the restaurant is always clean. The only recommendation I have is that I wish they would add new rolls orspecials so I can try something different! Read more
First meal of the day. Got some sashimi squid eel and yellow tail. Added a glass of iced green tea and a squid salad. The... green tea wasnt too strong and very drinkable. My husband and I drove past this little place the other day and decided we may want to try it out soon, as we love sushi and... Japanese food overall. The very next day we contemplated going there for lunch. Before deciding on it, I wanted to check thereviews of it to make sure it is any good. Of course, 9 out of 10 reviews are very positive. Then there's this hilarious guyAhmad Mohammad.. He cracked us up, and we told ourselves that he is the reason we are going to try Cafe Zen out for lunch! Ifyou haven't read it, please do. To get to the review: A very fresh and adorable little restaurant. We had a great waitress (andwe did absolutely NOT get to pay extra for the "refuels", haha!) I ordered the chicken teriyaki (a massive bento) while myhusband got the sushi special (which I wanted as well, but I figured it would be nice to test out more than one meal if wereally wanted to know the quality of what they offer on the menu!) ... Verdict: we love it. Huge and super fresh looking andtasting meals! Since we live less than 5 minutes away, this is gonna become a weekly habit for us, yay! :) UPDATE 2 yearslater: Still our favorite place to go. Have loved EVERYTHING we have ordered off the menu and we go here on a monthly basis.Each time we go, I keep thinking I want to hand the staff flowers for just being all around amazing at what they do. The freepasta appetizer you get tastes so good! The ginger salad is fresh. The miso soup has the perfect balance of flavors (frankly I'mobsessed with it.) Great addition to the neighborhood. High quality sushi. Nice atmosphere. Attentive and pleasant staff.
