We went to Shogun and really enjoyed the food. My husband ordered the combination Steak and Calamari and really enjoyed it. I... had sushi. Every time I go I try something new. The best so far is the Creamy Monster, Louisiana and Spider. They make it freshto order. I gave it a four star because when they are packed there is a delay in service but the wait staff is very nice and thefood is great. Recent visit was great. Order takeout tonight. It was terrible. The chicken was hard and dried out. Could not even chew a few pieces. Same with the... shrimp. Usually this is not an issue but it has been the last 2 times we have come. Our rice was half soft and half hard. Verydisappointed since we spend a reasonable amount of money on the food. Read more
We had a great experience! Even though there was quite a wait to sit and after we ordered, they were all very nice and... apologetic about the wait. It was a Saturday night, so we expected it. Very good food, there was 11 of us and they don't take reservations for Fridays, at first take 1 hour to get seated, when they... found out size of group we got in less than 10 minutes, Don't know why less wait time for big group, but hey not complaining.We was short 2 plates and silverware, had to remind them 2xs. Our server was a nice gentleman, he took orders and made sureeverything was alright. Cook named Jonathan was entertaining and good, he didn't do as good as last years Cook, didn't tossfood for someone to catch, but still good. Shogun is always fantastic. Their prices are on the higher side, but the quality is reflected. In 10 years of coming here, I've... only had one issue, which was quickly resolved. The way management handled the small mix-up really reflected their exceptionalcustomer service. They are very accommodating for families, and the kids love the hibachi show. The small bar area is greatfor a more casual get together, or where you can enjoy a Sapporo or sake while waiting for takeout. Overall, Shogun is one ofmy favorite restaurants in Greenville and a staple in the community. I recommend the "monkey brain"! Read more
It was fun night out. Chef was good and put on cute show. The downside was everything that was cooked on the grill was drowning... in butter. Not much seasoning or spice to the food just a lot of heavy butter it was cooked in. I will go back but only for thedessert. Read more
