Why can’t more restaurants be run like this. Front of the house was being run exclusively with smiling staff who seemed happy... to be there (or hid it well). Service was fast and friendly. Delicious steak tips with no fatty bits, covered in delicious gravypeppers and onions. Caesar salad and crinkle cut fries on the side, all for $18 in 2022! Stopped by with my dad today when he picked up his order. He told me I should give the cake a try. I decided to pick up a slice... of strawberry cake. The traditional (pink) strawberry cake with a white frosting. The cake is moist and the frosting is amazing.Loved it! Mind you, this is no ordinary slice of cake—it’s enough for yourself and a friend to have quite a bit. I howeverdid not share with a friend. ???? I was also very impressed by the girl who was very prompt in getting my dads order out andringing me up. I also noticed she made sure to point me out so the girl would know where I was and also that the order was mine.I didn’t get her name but she was blonde with her hair in an updo today. ???? A friend and I had lunch at the Seahorse this past Wednesday. We both had the Fried Chicken which is the best in NC. They also... have the best Homemade Cakes imaginable! I had some mashed potatoes and green beans left and I was kindly provided a take outcontainer to take both home to eat the next day. I dropped the container on the floor while trying to put it in a take out bagat the pickup area. The owner was standing there and without hesitation gave me a new takeout container with entire freshservings of mashed potatoes and green beans. He is a Trained Professional as well as an extremely kind person! This is justone example of many as to why this restaurant is always packed!! The servers are awsome as well! Read more

Food is authentic down home cooking and done right. However, the excel with the seafood, steaks and pork chops. They are second... to NO ONE!!!! I mean no one. The quality is terrific. On top of all that they make without a doubt the best homemade cakesanywhere. I'm a preacher's kid whose had 40+ years of Homecoming, camp meeting and revival foods from every ethnic backgroundyou can think of and these cakes are the absolute finest without equal. I stopped baking and just drive almost an hour to getcakes from there. The prices for the portion size is unbelievably a great deal on top of everything else.
