Took my family here on Sunday for brunch. The staff was nice and helpful, no issues there. The place was obviously not cleaned... well from the night before. The floor was sticky and nasty and so was the table. I got some sort of stick goo all over my armwhen I sat down. I was hoping the food would make up for it but nope. Waffle was decent, topped with frozen and fried chickenstrips. Biscuits were also frozen and heated, sausage gravy was from a can and came to the table cold. One person got abreakfast sandwich and it looked pretty good so maybe that is their sweet spot. My son got an omelet and it just looked sad buthe said it was ok. Wife had avocado toast and she said it was not good at all. I was hopeful that this would be a legit placeto eat with the family and not just another downtown party shack but its not looking good. I was hopeful when the Winslow?s name was shed that the service would improve with a new name and painted exterior, but I was... wrong. There was a very small lunch crowd, but my food took almost an hour to get to me. The burger was over cooked, but theshrimp basket and strawberry salad was good. The server appeared overworked, and who I assumed to be the manager was behind thebar and came over only to grab our check and only after I asked him to process our check. Second chance here and the worst experience; waitress was in attentive food was cold, incorrectly made as well. Took nearly an... hour to bring food out, it was a Sunday and obviously slow yet we were told they were backed up. Absolutely no sign of anymanagement on duty. Waitress walked away leaving food on the table when told we weren?t interested in waiting even longer forthem to make it again. Again this was worse than the first time trying here which was busy but was given explanation why thingwere taking so long. Cool laid-back vibe in downtown Greenville. The food was good though not cooked as requested. And, after my original order... wasn't available because the kitchen was out. And, the kitchen didn't tell our server (she said) until nearly 40 mins afterplacing our order. Overall, the place has a lot of potential. But, they need to get their process and service in order. SideNote: this was not a lack of staff issue. There were few people there and plenty of serving staff. I don't know how the kitchenwas staffed. Read more
They have changed owners and the name! Now 5th St. Hardware Restaurant & Taproom. Info Needs to be updated on Google Maps. ... Food, prices, and service were very good. We ate lunch around 3pm. I was a little hesitant at first because of some of the reviews but I?m happy I came. We ordered the jalapeño popper bread bowl... which was really tasty, drinks were amazing( I recommend the key lime pie martini) server was nice and everything was served ina timely manner. Went for brunch and food was delicious. Unfortunately service could have been better. Waitress only came back to table once... after 45 minutes. Omelet station cook, stepped away to make phone call while line waited for omelets. Read more
