Stamey's has been a family favorite all my life and we make sure to go at least once each time we're visiting in Greensboro. The... barbecue is always fantastic, the slaw is a perfect compliment, and the hush puppies are perfectly crispy on the outside, softon the inside. The cobbler (always peach, other flavors rotate) is delicious. If they have cherry or strawberry, I have a hardtime choosing because they're both so good. Read more

Ordered BBQ for 6 , two quarter chickens , hush puppies and slaw. One container for 6 people. Was barely enough for 5. Bbq was... tasteless. No smoke flavor. Also tuff to chew. The chicken was over cooked and dry. Chicken jerky basically. Hush puppies overcooked . They were crunchy. Only thing good was the slaw. And with out good bbq the slaw was useless. $50 down the drain. Notagain. Will look elsewhere for bbq. Read more

I can't recall having a bad experience at either location, and I've dined here many times. Sometimes the stores are busy, but... the service is always very quick once seated. The menu isn't extensive as some others, but it doesn't need to be since Stamey'smakes the best wood-cooked barbecue in the city. Cheerwine on tab and pleasant and attentive servers are other another majorbenefits. Read more

A Greensboro institution. I've gone here my entire life and it's about as "local" as something can get in North Carolina. Just... move to the state and want the "real thing"? Go here. The margins aren't great on this BBQ and I can tell the numbers have gonedown in recent years (as costs have risen), but Stamey's has been (and I hope will always be) Greensboro's BBQ joint. Always getthe cobbler (with ice cream) with every meal, it's a law or something I think. P.S. The Brunswick Stew isn't too shabby. Read more

The food is consistent and consistently good. When we visit our daughter in another state, we take a feast of barbecue, slaw,... hush puppies and cobbler. We enjoy the food and the friendliness of the staff. We definitely feel valued as customers. And theprices are still good, too. Read more

Seems to be only serving white families, we sat down to eat and no one spoke to us. The other white two families were welcomed... by a waiter. There is no way we were no seen or heard we have a 10 month old babbling. Read more

Friendly folks, decent prices good pork and chicken. I wanted to like the slaw but just couldn't do it. They use red wine... vinegar I think. It's a different take for sure. Read more

Love the updated changes they have the Chick-fil-A look but they do not have the Chick-fil-A customer service yet that is... something to work on. Food is amazing! It will be nice y'all have more pork rind skins available to the customers you never havebut a few bags and then once those are gone you can't get anymore so that would be a plus two enhance customer service. The newlook looks great though. I love the way that the parking lot is attached to the men's wearhouse so it makes it easier for you toconnect to the restaurant without getting out into the traffic smart thinking ?? Read more
