Heard good things about this restaurant so I decided to try it! The greens were cooked too long but seasoned very well. The... sweet potatoes needed a pinch more cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar, however, the fried chicken was cooked to perfection! Would highlyrecommend! Read more

So the reason I chose this place was bc their menu had liver & onions. Unfortunately, they no longer serve that dish, however... they do have lots of good soul food. The chicken is good and the chicken wings are big. The pork chops also were tasty & notoverdone. All of the veggies were good but okra was my favorite. We will certainly go back bc they were very friendly and thatalso helps! Read more

The collards were just too salty. The Potato salad was bland and watery. Although the pork chops are big, they were also... bland, dry with no type of flavor. The sweet potato cake had a basic taste and was more of a spice cake. Unfortunately, Ihaven't tasted the meatloaf yet and I do not have high hopes after tasting the other items I ordered. The way they packed theslice of cake [I was supposed to have received a whole cake which I purchased] was poorly packed and squashed with the twocontainers of bland potato salad. I tried several times to contact the restaurant, but unfortunately no one would pick up orthe voicemail was full during business hours. I will NEVER, EVER purchase food from Arlene's Restaurant. Very disappointingbecause I was looking forward to the food. Read more

Arlene's Restaurant experience was extraordinary for myself. I was there to meet with our Mentor group, which there was plenty... of space for us to meet in comfort. Our service was tremendous and very attentive in spite of having a group size of 15. And,it would not be a restaurant if she did not serve food. I ordered the pork chops platter, and it was one of the first times, Ihad smothered pork chops better than my Mom's. That good if you enjoy that food selection. Collards and Mashed Potatoes were mysides, and they were all the more tasty. I would highly recommend Arlene's Restaurant, multiple visits to try her wide selectionof delicacies. Read more

I forgot to take a photo of the food. We were greeted by servers upon entering and quickly seated. There was a lot of items to... choose from on the menu. I chose meatloaf with gravy, homemade mashed potatoes and pinto beans. My coworker had fried fish, which covered one plate, homemade macaroni and cheese and green beans. The food arrived prompt and hot. It was delicious andflavorful. I will make a return visit and suggest you give this a try if you like soul food. Read more

Order was done in a timely manner & great customer service. However chicken taste & looked like it was cooked in oil that needed... changing. My chicken was also huge thought it was turkey. Alot of fat left on chicken. Cornbread was DRY & burnt. Mac & cheesewas ok & yams were good. I really consider myself to be a foodie and for me this wasn't it. Looking at other reviews maybe thiswas just a bad day. Read more

Concerned as we walked in and the heat inside the dining room hit us. Had to be over 80 degrees. Sat quickly and got our drink... order. Drinks came just as quick. Also concerning was what sounded like a microwave door opening and closing and the ?beepbeeps? of a microwave. In hopes it?s all in my head. Sweet tea was good but could use a dash more sugar. They had lemon wedges, unlike most places now a days. Acoustics are a little harsh inside. They need something to absorb the excess noise. The portionsize is ridiculously large. Especially for lunch. Real mashed potato?s! Those aren?t seen in most places. Meatloaf is more onthe northern side than southern cooking. A gray meatloaf instead of the red tomato based I am accustomed to. Still good. Mac &Cheese, spot on. BLT superbly prepared. This is a go to place for great food and service. Read more
