We were very disappointed with the 3 meals we ordered last week... To start with, they did not have several foods I ask for...... Only 2 orders of slaw left... I ask for Honey Mustard with my orders... Ok that being said, when we get home with the food, theslaw is sour and could not be eaten! There was NO honey mustard! My collards were all stems! Missing green beans from oneplate! However the pork chops were very tender and delicious! We have eaten here for many years and never been disappointedbefore! I pray this was from the lack of kitchen help... Read more

A little pricey for lunch but only if you think you're going to get fastfood. This place is delicious. Staff attentive.... Restrooms are clean. Lovely historic photos through out. If you have a sweet tooth try the buttermilk pie. Nothing at all likebuttermilk. Read more

Meh....to the buttermilk pie. Have waited literally months to try this pie only to not be enthused. The crust had a bit of a... burnt taste but it was covered with whipped cream. Otherwise it would have not been eaten. The fries weren't tasty at all. Theywere too greasy and not hot. Buffalo chicken sandwich tasted pretty good. It wasn't the best I've had. Overall 3 stars. For aslong as this place has been in business, the pie, which is the star, should be perfect! Read more

My family and I were at Lake Oconee/Greensboro area for 5 nights and tried number of local restaurants. My rating is based on... the restaurants we tried in the area. Follow me to see my other reviews. This was the one restaurant in the area that we wantedto try from everything that I read about. We felt it was a bit over hyped. Fried green tomatoes was the best thing we got, though the tomatoes were not "green" enough. Blackened pork chop was a bit dry. Country fried steak was salty. Grill chicken isgood but very small portion. Fried basa (fish) is good and good sized portion. Finished off sharing the famous buttermilk pie. While it is warm, we could tell it was microwave as some spots was still cold. It was really sweet for our taste. Read more

Back again, review after this is from a year ago Another great lunch with family. We had a knife and fork open face beef... sandwich, tuna melt and a BLC sandwich....all great. Service was spectacular and friendly and the play list for backgroundmusic is right up my ally. Always a great experiance. From 11/2018. Second time we have been here. This time with out of townfriends. We wanted to give them the local feeling. Overall service and atmosphere were great for our lunch. Great ice tea anddeserts(buttermilk pie and chocolate walnut pie)..although a little expensive. Fish Po-boy, Chicken melt and Tuna melt wereoutstanding, Caribbean chicken not so much. Fun place to share the real home town feeling of Greensboro. Read more

Clean restaurant in Downtown. The service was great. Love the jalapeno poppers! The house salad is a bowl of romaine lettuce,... 1/4 of a tomato and a couple onions. The shrimp and fries were good. The filet I ordered was cooked perfect but it had no taste,I think they forgot to season it. I'm not a fan of buttermilk pie but it was pretty good. Read more
