Finally tried Hicks BBQ tonight and I was not disappointed. I never thought I?d say that butt fries are my new guilty pleasure... on a public forum, but O M G! Now I?m not a huge Barbecue person, but everything about their Butt Fries was 100% on point. Thepork was moist, the barbecue sauce had the perfect combination of sweet, smokey, and savory flavors. Combined with hot fries,melted cheese, sour cream, and chives?my heavens. Not to mention the portion was huge, and I only got 1/2 order! Not too great today. Maybe it was an off day. 3 of us received our food and when we asked about the 4th, they said it hadn't... been cooked. They did give it to us for free. In addition, the special was fish..They were out of tarter sauce. Hoping to goback and have a better visit. I think they are worth a try as a good place to eat here in Greeneville. Our order had to be canceled and reordered w a 3 day wait to have the money replaced on my card because they had no desert... available. Our BBQ plate and sandwich had plenty of meat but no BBQ sauce at all. Very dry and absolutely no seasonings. I dontthink it was even salted to be honest. Totally flavorless.we were missing 1 side of beans on 1/2 plates. The fry dish was ok butI asked for no chives as im allergic and they were put on anyway. Way too expensive for NO flavor. Even Plain smoke would haveimproved it. Nearly a $100 for 2 people! 1st and last time eating there and will warn others away as well. Read more
