First time here. All in all, not bad. Diverse menu, place was clean and had a nice local vibe. Staff was friendly and helpful. ... Food was Ok. Mac and cheese was dry and slightly warm at best. Meat Loaf gets a 7 out of 10 as does the chicken and dressing.Nice to see a local place open on a Sunday for lunch. Big crowd when we arrived. Will go back to try other menu items. While notblown away by the food, it was good enough for us to be willing to go back for another Sunday lunch. If anything, some items wehad today may have been a little more on the bland side. I have been wanting to try this place out for a while and finally did so today. I got the Frenchie, and it was great! The... employees are very friendly and the food came out quickly! I also like that they serve your drink in a large Mason jar. If youlike good ole fashion country cooking and country hospitality, then this place is for you. We will definitely be back again! The food was really good and the service was great. The issue we had was it felt like we were being stared at the whole time we... were in there. The person who is taking care of us was really nice and we heard a man make a snide comment about her and herlooks. That really ruined the meal for us and when I talked to the employees and told them we were leaving because of saidgentleman they said he was the owner. We also had flies hovering all over our plates. If the owner cared more about hisestablishment than he does about impressing the people he was there with maybe he wouldn?t have a fly problem. He came off veryshowy and degrading. It really made us uncomfortable and sad for the people under his ownership. The staff were amazing but wewon?t be returning. As someone who has to watch their sodium content I really appreciate that the restaurant provides salt and pepper to add to food... instead of overly seasoning their food. I got breakfast today and it tasted so good! The food is hearty and is very affordable.Never had a bad experience here and the place reminds me of my grandma. Greenbrier is my hometown but this restaurant just feelslike home. Anyone visiting the area should check it out if you want a true home cooked southern meal. Read more
This was my first time here and I was happy with my experience. The service was good and the food was good. I got the veggie... plate since I knew I would be having dessert. The pinto beans was ok, but was bland, needs seasoning. The mac and cheese wasawesome though and the mashed potatoes and gravy, yum. The fried cornbread was to die for. Wish I would have got some to go.Now, I couldn't decide between the banana pudding or apple cobbler, so I got both. I was surprised with the huge servings! Thebanana pudding was pretty good, but the cobbler was really tasty. I plan on coming back soon to try the breakfast, which Ibelieve is served all day. Almost gave five stars. I have probably passed this place several times without seeing it. A big O sign calling it by its name, if you have tunnel... vision you will miss it. was a great place to visit and enjoy some pancakes and pork chops. had a great assortment of choices onthe menu plus dessert to boot. great service and good atmosphere!
