Reviews for El Cielo in Greeley, CO
The highlight of my visit to El Cielo was the outstanding service from our waitperson. She was efficient and friendly and... appeared to enjoy her job. My Street tacos were fine except for the chorizo which was dry and tasteless. I don't care for thedark cavernous dining room. The old space across the street, while smaller, was a lot more comfortable. Read more
Came here with a large party from out of town. We got told to come here for some great Mexican food. We were not disappointed. I... ordered a Carne Asada and it was awesome! Well worth the stop. Read more
Very good enchiladas. Kids taco salad big and flavorful. I ordered carne asada. Very flavorful and yummy. Steak was a little... over cooked and chewy. Still tasty! Beans/cheese and chips are served instead of chips and salsa. Loved it! Read more
The service was very dissapointing. The waitress seemed very careless we waited a while just to get our drinks while we noticed... she was walking around doing other things and then she went behind the counter having a conversation and laughing as we watchedher. I thought she was actually having the horchata made then I saw her finally pouring from a container and I quickly realizedwe were on her time. The most ackward and disgusting part was when I got my ?torta de chorizo? and I ordered strips of bacon???? on the side and didn?t get them? SO she came out to tell me there were small pieces of bacon inside my torta and startedTAPPING my torta w the menu?s she was holding in her hand. That is just dirty and disgusting I couldn?t believe she did thatafter letting me know the cook ?got mad? because I said the bacon was not there. Was that really necessary? She had no mannersnor customer service skills you don?t touch other peoples food period especially w menus so many others have toucheddisgusting!! I am attaching a pic of the torta. Now if u know anything about tortas they should NEVER be SOGGY!! The bread wasso soggy as if it had been in microwave that it was hard to even hold. the cook and the waitress need to find another jobclearly this is not for them! Read more

Went there pretty early since I saw they were open thought why not. It's a shame the service was bad because the food was... actually pretty good. I prefer actual beans in my refried beans and not a pure, but the flavor was good. The service was notgood. I walked in and waited almost five minutes to even be acknowledged because the waitress was busy chatting with the cook. The cook looked at me twice, and there was no acknowledgment. At least say I'll be with you in a sec. Something. Ordered my foodand forgot to add guacamole. So after I ran my card, I figured I would just pay cash for the guac. She rings it up and it's 3dollars and some change. I hand the lady a 20 and she gives me 16. No receipt she threw that away so I don't know how muchchange it was, and not trying to be petty, but 4 dollars for 2oz of guac is ridiculous. There is no sign saying we don't givechange, she didn't hardly say anything to me except totals. Even if it's only 15 cents you just taking my change and not sayinganything is just kind of rude. I don't know if she just took it as a tip, or if the restraint doesn't have change. (That shouldbe stated or posted somewhere). 4 dollars for 2oz is crazy, I have never paid that much so little. I could have gotten a wholeburrito for that. She didn't tell me the sizes of guacamole or what they cost just charged me and the price on the menu juststates the price is seasonal. Still, I'm just disappointed. Read more
The food is some of the best Mexican food I've found in Greeley. The restaurant has a nice layout and the staff was fast and... friendly. I got the large combination and added a taco to it so I could get a good idea of their flavor. The taco was reallygood and had a light crispy corn shell, the tostada was decent but could have used a bit more toppings, and the burrito was goodtoo. The enchilada was not that great honestly, the sauce tasted like it came out of a can. My wife had the Alambre which wasreally good, full of meat, and the portion on that is filling. Finally there was the Chile relleno plate. It was a crispyrelleno with beans and rice. It was a pretty good relleno and I would eat it again. The prices are on the high side of averagebut not as bad as some other "Mexican grills". Read more
The food was pretty good but the music was as very loud. We spoke to the young lady waiting our table and were told there was a... private party. It was so loud the waitress could hear me! Folks at the gathering were looking at the speakers, indicating theloudness of the music? c?mon guys we can?t even have a conversation much less a decent dinner! Read more
