Neighborhood bar with a good number of beers on tap and decent cocktail selection. Lower star rating because I had a bartender... skip my playlist so he could play his own selection of the most country bumpkin music I have ever heard. Didn't expect that fora place in Tampa. Read more
Walked in on my birthday night with 3 friends of mine and my husband . My two friends and I order a drink & my husband who was... driving didn?t order anything . The bartender gives the 3 of us who order drinks our drinks? then walks around the bar andwhispers to our driver ?you have to order something .? NO YOU DONT !!!!! THREE guest ordering drinks and paying towards yourcompany isn?t enough?! Not a good look & I have tried 3 times now to give it a shot .. being in the restaurant industry I couldcareless to show my support . Be lucky anyone is spending a penny in that place . Read more
I was there last year to have a couple of drinks with a new 21 year old. Maria was chomping on a burger and involved with... conversation of a male friend (who later tried to fight one of the few patrons in the bar). I complained to management, becauseI was a regular there at the time and Maria threatened me and told me to leave if I didn?t like it. Management obviously didn?tcare what I had to say, because I received no response and I had heard from others that she was still there and the rudest tothe customers of all the bartenders there. I returned three times over the last year for specific reasons only. Last night, Iwas told she was there, but to come in since she wasn?t working behind the bar and the other two bartenders would serve mydrinks. One of the trio of mangers was there, we chatted as it had been awhile since we saw each other. Once I had noticed sheleft, I was getting ready to close out my tab and the girl serving me said, my supervisor told me I had to cut you off. I askedwho? She said It doesn?t matter, my supervisor asked me to cut you off. I said, okay who? Maria or Alex and she said ?stopyelling at me? LOL, I?m sorry I have a $21 tab and the music is loud, I was just asking who and you can?t tell me it is theperson that should have been fired for her attitude and threatening me last year? I paid my bill, left and I contactedmanagement, yet again. Not that anything will be done, but please know that this is by far the worst location of all. The Local is a great spot to hang out and relax. While the cocktails are well-crafted, the beer list extensive and varied, and... the specials attractive, it's the staff here that really sets this place apart. The bartenders are not only very friendly, butthey'll take the time to understand what you like and make solid recommendations when trying new drinks. If you're looking for aregular spot to spend time with friends and make some new ones, you can't do much better! Read more
The local is a mediocre bar, yet I was absolutely blown away by the outstanding bartender (Sydney). Not only was she absolutely... gorgeous, but she also made the very best Jack & Coke that the west coast of Florida has yet to see.
