The server was really nice. It took an unusually long time to get my order, for a pretty empty space. The food was received as... if the cook just stopped caring. The order was riddled with unusable food. The really burnt sausages complemented the puddinglike centered pancakes, and the sandy textured grits, which tasted as such. I would have walked out, but my insulin kicked inand I suffered through. The server was kind and offered to have it remade, but alas, being it was made that way originally, Icould only imagine what extra ingredients might find their way in. So I paid and left. Meh... My expectations were higher then expected. I have one of these near my home, but haven't had a chance to try it. I had... dinner here and ordered the grilled salmon. I try to eat pretty healthy when I travel. The 3 stars represents the lack ofservice. I waited over 5 mins for someone to get me to a table even though they noticed me and kept acknowledging that theywould be there in a minute. The restaurant was not busy and no one else was waiting to be seated. I waited over 20 - 25 minutesfor my order to come to the table. The food was fair. Arrived about 15 minutes to closing but they sat me down and I ordered a soda and the 14 oz porter house medium rare. Food was... brought out pretty quickly. The salad was yummy. I love the papa bear habanero sauce. I used that on my French fries. I enjoyedmy food. Read more

I ate breakfast at this restaurant today , and it was Amazing!! I highly recommend the delicious bear paw shaped blackberry ... stuffed French toast. It's incredible! The bacon and eggs taste fresh and perfectly cooked to order. The coffee is perfect aswell. Our server was friendly, and did a fabulous job serving us and the rest of her customers! I have been traveling all over the Western United States all year for work, and I have been looking for Eggs Benedict to no... avail. So when I walked in to Black Bear I was expecting to be let down "Again" But to my surprise when I asked Jen ,mywaitperson she asked me which type of potatoes I would like...Yay!! And it was amazing... A favorite spot for us! Have breakfast for dinner! We chose separate meals this time - TONS of leftovers. We usually share a... platter and it's just right. :) Try the biscuits, corn bread and anything else on the menu - it's all fantastic! The exteriorand interior decor are so cute too! If you're visiting the West side of WA, visit the Black Bear Diner locations (5) theretoo!
