The Buxtin Inn will absolutely be in my rotation when it comes to local travel. The historic buildings are absolutely gorgeous... and feel as though you?re in town visiting friends. Mark at the front desk was warm and welcoming to my party who ended uparriving a little later than planned and he even offered us a full tour of the main building as there were lots of claims ofparanormal activity and that?s exactly how we happened upon the Buxton. Mark also shared his enthusiasm, and love for the spookystories and even shared some of his own experiences. You won?t be disappointed by this amazing find! Read more

The historic Buxton Inn will definitely be in my rotation for local getaways. The buildings are absolutely gorgeous and they... feel like you?re visiting a friend?s house when you?re there. Mark welcomed my party with warmth and understanding as we arrivedrather late in the evening. He even offered to give us a FULL TOUR of their main building as there have been claims ofparanormal activity and that?s exactly how we happened upon the place. Mark shared his knowledge and love of the local spookylegends and it really made our stay even better. I cannot wait to return to this amazing space and it?s WAY better than thecrowded place across the street. Thank you Mark and thank you Buxton Inn!! Read more

The Historic Buxton Inn is an absolute gem! The complex of historic buildings offers several different accomodations, a bar,... historic Tavern and amazing dining! We went with our family to celebrate our anniversary and were greeted by a lovely hostess,Georgia, who was patient and personable as we waited for our entire party to arrive. She was knowledgeable about the inn andpointed out information on display that explained the rich history of the building. We were seated in the glass enclosed gardenroom which made us feel like we had stepped back in time to the roaring 20's. Our server, Alex, was spot on and catered to ourevery need with a great attention to detail. The food was fantastic and included a variety of appetizers, chicken, salmon soup, salad, pasta and pork dishes. The food was worth every penny. After dinner they allowed us to look around and even tour thewine cellar where they have the ability to host parties. There are many stories about the inn being haunted, not surprisingwhen you have a building that has continually been in operation since 1812! We will definitely be back and hope to stayovernight next time! Thank you Buxton Inn for helping us celebrate in style! Read more

Great historical location we visited for dinner. Very friendly staff from the moment we walked inside making us feel we were in... the right place. Our Hostess Georgia made us feel very welcome and waited patiently until the entire party arrived. Our serverAlex was on top and an excellent host who met all of our requests. The food was perfectly prepared and not one complaint fromthe group. We recommend this place highly and encourage you to visit if in the area. Read more

Had dinner here for the first time. Historic, enjoyable place. More relaxed than I expected. The menu is somewhat limited but... we liked everything we ordered. The onion rings are exceptional. The restaurant is open to the public whether you stay in aroom or not. They are doing something right to be able to be open for 200 years! Read more

We enjoyed our visit at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the porch delightful. Elizabeth was very friendly and... helpful at check in. The inn seems to have lost track of the history and this is a shame. Some information about the backgroundand past guests would be nice. Read more

Way overpriced for the quality of the room. Don?t get me wrong it?s nice due to the fact it?s historic, but my family has been... coming here every 4th of July for the last 15 YEARS. The rooms use to be $99.00 which is completely fair in my opinion. Nowsince new management has taken over, we felt extremely rushed to check out the next morning. Also, I request a late checkoutevery year so instead of 11:00am we check out at 12:00pm. Not this year. The woman at the front counter is very short inconversation and has extremely poor customer service/people skills. The rest of the staff including the man who is therethroughout the night, is amazing. He was one of the best parts of the stay and if he reads this he knows why. Hope this helpsothers before they decide to pay $300 for a room that offers nothing but a bed to sleep in and fortunately for me I was able tospend time with my family, but we can pay $300 just about anywhere else and the amenities included would be off the charts.Thank you. We have stayed here a few times now. Just love the place. Park our motor cycles outside on the side street. Sit on the patio... drinking wine and watching the world go by. Short walk into wonderful Granville. Great base for us to ride the Windy 9motorcycle routes. Loved the room. Nothing beats the personal touch missing in chain hotels. Read more
