During our travels, we like to try new places to eat at. It is rare that we try a new place for breakfast as we usually stay at... hotels and motels that offer their very unique versions of ?The continental breakfast?. This time we decided we wanted aheartier, more?complete breakfast. So we left our hotel and drove toward Bend hoping to find a nice place to eat along the way.Enter Elmer?s in Grants Pass. As we were driving my lovely navigator, asked her friend Siri to suggest a good breakfastrestaurant. Siri?s top suggestion of Elmer?s peaked my wife?s interest and thus, we made our way there. Once there, thebuilding seemed no different or more special than the IHOPs of old or the Sharis across the street. The only hint that gave awayits ability to win ??the Best Breakfast place in Grants Pass??, according to reviews, was a completely full parkinglot. Summoning my best knight rider impersonation, I quickly and deftly pulled into the parking lot just in time to find avehicle leaving its spot open for us. We parked and entered the building, all chuffed that we didn?t have to wait long. Onceinside, we were warmly welcomed and brought to our table. Wishing a minute or two, our server brought us menus and asked what wewanted to drink. We made our choices and another couple of minutes later, our food came out, warm and smelling delicious! Ihonestly can?t remember the name of what we chose; all I remember is that her choice had the word ?farmer? in hers and mine hadavocado. Well, the moment of truth came to us and, wow! Good breakfast indeed. Their hash browns are grated from fresh potatoesand pan-fried to a golden, crisp brown which is so difficult to get? My very, very big, three-egg omelette was replete withdeliciously melted cheese and smoked, chipotle-infused bacon and coupled with the fresh fluffy eggs and avocado was, heavenly.Of course it needed a little kick but that is just ?cause I need to put hot sauce on everything! Had a great meal with pleasant quick service. We wanna go back just to try those German pancakes! They look amazing! Their... stuffed hash browns never disappoint, it's what brings us back along with other all day breakfast options. The prime ribBenedict was just as good as the dungeoness crab one. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday at 6 but there was no wait to beseated. Great impromptu dinner location, casual and quick, good food! Read more

Stood in line to be seated for 10 minutes until I walked out and went across the street to the other breakfast spot. Was seated... in a minute and ordered in two. The GM seems proud enough to post their name at the front door. Perhaps they should put moreeffort into the central tenet of their business- customer service. This was a management issue NOT a staff issue. Read more

In 1960, Walt and Dorothy Elmer opened breakfast focused Elmer?s Colonial Pancake House in Portland, OR. Truly a family owned... and operated labor of love, Walt, Dorothy, and their three sons poured their hearts into serving the local community. It was animmediate success thanks to their commitment to bringing people together for home-style cooking, using only the finestingredients. Built on the foundation of Walt Elmer?s famous buttermilk pancakes, the original recipe for pancake batter waspurchased for $1,000 and rumor has it that Walt kept it locked in his safe. We still use Walt?s original recipe today! Over theyears, the menu was expanded with lunch and dinner items and the restaurant became Elmer?s Pancake & Steakhouse. In 1966,Elmer?s began franchising and continues to grow to this day. Including the newest addition, Egg N? Joe, there are now 29Elmer's locations throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California and Arizona. Read more

Best restaurant breakfast I have ever had. The waitress, Teresa was wonderful and went above and beyond. She knew we were... sharing the two dishes we ordered and so she had both meals separated on two plates each without being asked. Everything wasdelicious and had amazing flavor. Would highly recommend their stuffed hash browns and anything with their gravy on it. Highlyrecommend this restaurant, wish I could give it more stars. Read more
