"Almost" is the word of the day for One Bourbon. Make no mistake, this is a good place for food and drink, just a few details... holding it back from a 5 star review. Cocktails were good and very strong. Huge bourbon list to choose from. The Carrot Cake OldFashioned just tasted like a normal old fashioned, but no complaints otherwise. The food was great, not excellent. The TennesseeChicken was a bit bland, and the Bourbon Burger came out cooked a bit over. Other than that, the food was very good. Caught them for the last bit of happy hour. I though the 2 off all the cocktails was an awesome hh special. Most places have... like 2 drinks to choose from. I got the vanilla old fashioned. It was very well done. A little sweet for me but still very nice.I could see myself working through the drink list. Atmosphere was nice. Clean and relaxed but with a high end feel. We're afraid to post this for fear of it becoming too popular but this is THE BEST of GR. The west side eatery is unique with... New Orleans cuisine and casual atmosphere. You must try the burnt orange and vanilla old fashioned. Amazing! The owners andstaff are the best! Dustin did a great job tonight and Grayson has been stupendous on our previous visits! Okay, I?m kind of obsessed. First, a little historical snack -the site belonged to the first bar in Kent county after... prohibition! It?s absolutely gorgeous inside -perfect for cocktails with friends, after work get-togethers, dates, and catchingup with family. If you don?t know much about spirits, do NOT worry! Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable -Meagan blew us awaywith her knowledge and her cocktail finesse! She started us off slow with a rose petal gimlet and blackberry thyme smash. WOWSA!Stunning concoctions! We then did a little whiskey tasting and moved into drinks highlighting bourbon -a burnt orange andvanilla old fashioned and blueberry boulevardier. The blueberry boulevardier is perfect for low-carb Googlers! And I forgot tomention the cheese curds! Simply stunning and a big, healthy order! They?re the lightest fried curds I?ve had -not greasy orheavy. Nice, light, well-seasoned, and crisp. For entrees we had the southern chicken sandwich, along with red beans and ricewith chicken. Everything was wonderfully executed -throughout our experience, I was incredibly impressed with flavors andcreativity. The environment was clean, welcoming, and unique. Further, staff were amazing! We made dinner reservations for my husband's birthday. Unbeknownst to us, it was restaurant week, but they still reserved a... table by the windows for us and provided absolutely amazing service. Our waitress was one of the nicest waitresses I have everhad anywhere and she was knowledgeable about the bourbon. We tried the black pea fritters for an app. For dinner, I had thegrilled cheese with squash bisque and my husband had the burger. Everything was amazing! Read more
