Reviews for Kemi's African Kitchen in Grand Prairie, TX
Oh my God. This Restaurant is amazingly beautiful, Excellent service. We met I think the husband of the owner. He took orders.... Then This Restaurant delivered , 100%. We were quite impressed. We could not get the taste out of our mouth. We went there the3rd day. We met Madam Kemi. She delivered 100% as well. This time we took it home we did not eat in there like the first time.We got home the food was intact, fresh, hot and very tasty. We bought some meat pie and we wanted to take it back home. We ate itall the meat pie did not make it out of Dallas. The restaurant is very neat, clean it's just A+ in my book. Read more
My Jollof rice had hair in it. Calling tomorrow to get my money back Update: called at 11:16 the young girl apologised and... asked what would I like for them to do and that she could give me new rice. I asked for a refund and she said I would have tocall back when the owner gets in in an hour. Obviously I was at work at didn?t get a chance to until I got off work. Spoke tothe owner and she insisted that they cover their hair and there?s no way their rice has hair inside. She offered an exchange butrefused a refund. I live 45 minutes away I?m not driving back for rice after finding 3 strands of hair inside. Will not bereturning to this establishment again. Their customer service is bottom barrel. I?ve been there plenty times but this is it Read more
I hate that I have to write this review because I've loved everything about this restaurant ever since I discovered Kemi's... Kitchen. For years I have frequented this restaurant and almost always order Egusi as a side or entire meal. I walked in toplace a to go order for Egusi with no meat. After getting home, I later discover my dish has meat all throughout, so much sothat it can't be picked out. In addition, this stew is EXTREMELY thick and almost looks and taste like it was mixed with moimoi. When I contacted the restaurant, the young girl that took the order answered the phone and literally tried to argue thatit was my fault for not explaining in more detail what I meant by "no meat".... To make matters worse, I ask to speak to themanager who basic doubles down. She tells me in the 15 years they've been making Egusi, its always had smoked turkey in it.I've ordered for years and can guarantee that is not true. Orders prepared wrong happens no matter where you go. What I cannotaccept is the HORRIBLE response and customer service both women displayed. For that alone, I will not order here again. Read more

I come here often. I've wanted to try other African restaurants but didn't want to chance it. At Kemi's, the food is so good and... very flavorful. I always get the Fufu platter and I have never been disappointed. You have to be patient when waiting for yourfood because it could take a little while to prepare. Otherwise, the wait is so worth it! I got fufu and egusi soup. It was good. I wouldn't mind the goat meat being softer but that's my opinion. Other than that it... was delicious af. I give 5 stars because can't find fufu too often anywhere. Read more
