Reviews for Sky's Restaurant in Grand Forks, ND
Absolutely INCREDIBLE experience at this restaurant. Quiet, clean, professional, delicious are some words to describe it. I sat... at the bar top and ordered the “8 oz. filet finished with a gorgonzola cream sauce” with a glass of their Pinot Noir. Myfilet came with smooth mashed potatoes and glazed, cooked carrots. I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed my meal! Highlyrecommend this fine dining spot in Grand Forks. Read more
It was just Ok. The prime rib was tough. The rack of lamb was decent. The French onion soup had way too much Worcestershire. The... restaurant atmosphere and setting was nice. I would not eat there again. Read more
The hostess that worked on October 19@6:40 didn’t even record my reservation for October 22@6:30 for a party of 4. It was my... daughters 21st birthday and she even told me that she will write a note recording her birthday. We get there and tell thegentleman that we are the party of 4 @6:30 . He starts looking and tells me that he doesn’t see it . I asked him “ this isthe only Skys restaurant here right ? He keeps looking then He tells me there is a reservation for a party of 12 @ 6:30 . Thenhe tells me we have a table top for 4 at the bar , you can sit there . Im like “No “ I called and a girl answered and tookmy reservation. He didn’t even try to make it happen instead he says . You can try other restaurants. So I’m wondering ifthey bumped my reservation for the party of 12. The guy didn’t even try to make room for us, especially when it’s their fault . He suggested Harry’s . What are the chances that they will have room for us when this restaurant is booked ? Obviouslyhe wasn’t going to make it happen. We go across the street to Harry’s and told them what happened to us at Sky’s and theymade it happened being that they were also booked. Go to Harry’s I totally RECOMMEND it . The food was so yummy and theservice. The hostess that helped us was so generous and made my daughters 21st birthday night. My daughter was so happy. Sheeven added a birthday sign on the table . Very nice staff . Read more
Not bad, the atmosphere was pleasant; our party of 5 was set up at a white folding table which I thought was weird, but it was... okay. The food was ok but not what I was expecting. I had the shrimp and grits, and it was ok; the peppers weren’t cooked, soI pushed them off to the side. The gravy was weird, but overall, again not a bad dish. My wife had the ranchero breakfast, andit was an enormous and way too much food for one person but flavorful. The service was ok but again, not what we expected withsuch reviews. We will come back but will try other spots in the area first. Read more
The food and in-restaurant experience was great. After the meal, we tried to leave, but the catering vehicle was parked... exceptionally close to the handicapped parking spot meaning we could not immediately leave. I went back into the restaurant toask for help. After waiting twenty minutes, we decided to back up and load in the alley, but the fact that my grandfather couldnot re-enter his vehicle with clearly marked handicapped accessories was disappointing. Exceptional cuisine and top shelf service make this one of the must visit restaurants in Grand Forks. The duck comes highly... recommended, the lamb was described as 'to die for' and I can say unequivocally that the pan fried walleye was an experience Iseek to have again. And while enjoying a delicious dinner order a bottle of their malbec...you may not be familiar with thusArgentinian vintage but it will become a favorite. Don't wait - get over there and eat! I came here for brunch because I had heard some good things about this place. But honestly the food was tasteless. The chiken i... got came with bell peppers and onions. But you can tell its quite old. They didn't prepare anything from scratch. The beans andrice are made in bulk for the whole day, which is understandable. But the chicken could have been cooked to order. The veggieslose there crunch and the texture is weird. I asked for salt and pepper and she brought me a salt shaker that had the holesclogged. So the salt can't come out. She seen me and didn't even offer to bring me a different one. I almost felt like a was aburden to her. Does she not know that she works for tips. She has to earn the tip. Its not a given. I usually tip 10 percentregarless of how horrible the service was and from there I go up according to how my service went. I tip 40% quite a bit. Butunfortunately not today. I will give it another try and come for dinner. Maybe that will be bettered prepared. Read more
