We saved for years, planned for months, and I have been so excited to bring my kids to the rocky mountains to experience real... powder snow skiing. Yesterday was sunny and beautiful and everyone got to experience a bit of deep powder snow. We love lovelove our rental home with a ski lift just outside our dining room window, it is absolutely why we chose to stay here. So nice tojust drop in at the house for a quick snack and head back out in the snow! Perfect for all our kids!!! This place is fantasticfor families and easy to keep track of everyone, nice little chair for beginners, and our three year old even made a run downthe buckhorn train successfully and loved it. The only part that I don't like is how steep the slope is leading to the chairlifts, that was stressful with my beginners and my little guy. This place feels private, and very much caters to the residentsand guests staying, vacationing, or living on the ranch. We think it would be so fun to live here and just go out and ski a fewruns after school or work all winter long. There is a sense of community here. the staff have been friendly. The rental skisand snowboard equipment were in such new condition, so nice and didn't have that icky rental feel (or smell!) We spent afortune to come for the week so I don't know when or if we will be back.... But many memories were made here and we love thisplace!! Read more

Great place for families and first time skiers. Shout-out to our awesome instructor, David, and to Kendra who took care of us... twice at Bluebird. The staff at Granby is awesome and everyone is so great with kids. It was our kids’ first time skiing andwe couldn’t have picked a better place. It’s a smaller mountain than others, but for us it was perfect. We lucked out with acondo in Base One and had the lifts and lodge right out our back door. All of the runs meet back at the same place and we had noconcerns about knowing our girls would know where to go. We will definitely be back! Read more

Rating this as a 5 for family friendly skiing. This isn't an Aspen / Vail / Breckenridge type of place. But it was perfect for... my kids that have never skied before. And no matter which path they took, they always ended in the same area which made it easyto let them go solo for a while. We have 3 daughters 12,11, and 8 so letting the older 2 go together while I spent time withthe younger one was great. They have 3 main lifts. One with greens and blues. One with blue and blacks. And the hill wherethey teach beginners. Read more

Nice little ski hill that is definitely attended mostly by area locals. There's essentially a west and an east hill. The east... side has steeper terrain, while the west has more variety and family-friendly runs. Food at the lodge cafeteria was so-so. Staff seemed very international, yet all were friendly. Parking was close, free, and easy! Read more

The staff at Granby Ranch were absolutely amazing. It was the best customer service I have experienced anywhere in a while. They... offered us anything they could to make us feel safe and have fun. We were beginners and we used the ski school. Our coaches Ziekand Alex were so nice and super patient with our five-year old when he was afraid and un-cooperative. He was skiing in his ownat the end of day two. Bonus: the best pastrami sandwich I have ever had! Read more

Granby Ranch Ski School provided ski lessons, equipment and lift tickets for 105 students from Granby Elementary School over the... course of three afternoons! Their staff and instructors are top notch with great teaching progressions and a caring nature forchildren! The ski instructors met all students at their ability level and provided individualized instruction to improve skiingskills. Our kids had so much fun with their staff and learned a lot! Read more

Underrated ski area due to its location between Steamboat and Winter Park. Low or no expert terrain but everyone else will be... happy trust me! Club and or concierge type feel during off peak because the pistes are surrounded by private residences and thepeople are friendly. As a want-to-be developer myself (FITZWEST) it occurred to me I would name the ski area "GRAND VALLEY", Ithink the area indeed is worthy of such a powerful moniker. Read more
