Room needs a good cleaning. Sofa was so stained wouldn't sit on it. Stayed there many times never dirty like this. Could have... used more towels. Love how quite & peaceful the Lodge is! Celebrating our 40th Anniversary! Read more
Only 4 of 5 because I nearly never give anything 5 stars. Rooms were a good price. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the... indoor pool! Our waiter in the evening was awesome. Very soft beds. The night lady at the front desk ,with the piercings wasgreat! Very helpful! I wish their winery would have been open. However they were short staffed and I understand that! They evenhad a pack and play available for our toddler! Hope to stay there again soon! Read more
The lodge and the location are fantastic. So quiet and peaceful throughout with beautiful buildings. We did a couple of miles of... hiking and the trail was in great shape with excellent blazes. I will note that we had no cell reception in all the parts of theproperty we visited, which was not necessarily a bad thing! Did not enjoy the food at the restaurant - seems like it spent a lotof time under the warming lamp or else it just wasn?t prepared well. The pot roast was dry, the gravy gelatinous, the salmon hadan odd glaze and the brussel sprouts?? It covered our needs but I wouldn?t do it again. Read more
Beautiful family favorite. Staff is always helpful, peaceful atmosphere, great look out point on the trails. Love to come hang... out just for a day, and to also stay a night or two for fun. We?ve stayed in the cabins, ?new? room, and original rooms. Wefrequently visit throughout the year as we are local. Truly One of a kind. Read more
We absolutely love this place which is why I feel I need to be honest. It needs a makeover or someone who really wants the lodge... to be the best it can be. It has the potential to be an awesome place and experience but falls short because of maintenanceproblem?s and a lack of TLC especially in the cabins. The rustic historical atmosphere is great but should still be clean andupdated. A small fridge and microwave is something expected in a hotel now and definitely in a cabin but here you have to pay anextra ten dollars a day if you want a fridge. I truly wish someone who had a real interest and love for the place would takeover instead of a corporation who just wants to get by. The lodge deserves it and so do the customers that love staying there. As far as the restaurant goes, the food is great, service is good but again with just a couple of small changes it could be waybetter. Of course we will be back because there is still alot to love about this place but we?re always hopeful that someonewho has a real interest will give the Lodge the attention it deserves. Read more
We love visiting the Lodge. We spent one of our anniversaries there and enjoyed hiking, birdwatching, and seeing the early... wildflowers in the spring. We visited nearby restaurants as well as the Lodge's own excellent restaurant! The pool wasrefreshing after a day of hiking, too! The ambience is wonderful and the staff so friendly. We would recommend the lodge toanyone looking for a relaxing getaway! Read more
Our family loves Pere Marquette. It?s such a special place. We really want dining at Pere Marquette to be a Christmas Eve... tradition ? but the ambiance in the dining room feels a bit harsh in the evenings at times. Some small tweaks would make all thedifference in the world and level up the experience significantly. New linens in the dining room ? especially for ChristmasEve/the holidays that aren?t that plasticky material, as well as dimmed lights/candles, and Christmas music would improve theambiance and be low cost. Hoping some slight changes are made because the space is one of a kind! Read more
