Sidewinder was a fun course and allows a 14-handicap golfer like myself to score better than normal (shot an 81). Beautiful... views and the entire staff from the front desk to the bag drop guys were phenomenal! This place is very wellmanaged! Conditions weren?t great, but this was due to prepping for the seasonal over-seeding. Will definitely be back to trythe Dinosaur course!! Read more
This might be my 1st less than 3 star review ever. Just wanted to hit some balls before my flight today and walked in let them... know, 20/hr, makes sense, but then, mats, no grass tees available. Wow, september in Arizona and can't hit off the grass, glad Iwent there to check it out, never returning. Could have said, hey, it's mats only, would've saved 2 mins to hit 4 balls, thanksfor nothing, and the guy in the corner on his phone, keep smiling guy..... Read more
DO NOT have a wedding here! The wedding ?planner? did a terrible job at planning, had to constantly contact her as we felt... forgotten. Our wedding cake WAS forgotten about. At the wedding there was no staff in sight , we were all left wondering aroundand lost not knowing where to go etc. she yelled and a brides maid to ?pay attention? during ceremony in front of everyone. Sheleft the venue 2 Hours early. Without even saying a word. Wedding was ended 3 hours early due to terrible service. We paid$30/person for food which was left sitting outside , and cold. Hair was found in appetizers.. Charlene the ?wedding planner? andalso her boss was contacted by me and a few guests about everything a few days later . The denied everything and ?warned us?about writing reviews that will ruin their business . I can care less, if you want your wedding day ruined then go there .Otherwise don?t do it !!! No bride deserves to leave their wedding 3 hours early crying !!! And they didn?t even care !! Read more
WiFi was iffy, made online meetings challenging, so we used neighboring room's to improve things. Hot water took a loooong time... to manifest, as did cold, though sometimes the coldest water came out of the hot tap at first (I've heard this is common inDubai due to heat and how pipes are routed and heater placed). Otherwise, awesome, we hope to return soon, maybe in winter whenit isn't 105F (40C) daily! Read more
My Wife and I visited for a 3 day weekend and golf lessons to celebrate our anniversary. It was a wonderful experience all... around! Our 2-day Golf School with Arlene was an absolute blast, she is fantastic and made the experience well worth it for bothmy Wife and I, we will definitely be back. The views and grounds are beautiful, relaxed atmosphere, and our outdoor jacuzzipatio hit the spot as well as the on-site Spa date for my Wife. Do take in mind that this is an older property from aLodging/Resort standpoint bordering the wilderness so don't expect the rooms to be the ritz, but the great value reflects that.Will definitely make this place a yearly getaway spot! My wife and I have attended many events at Gold Canyon Golf Resort and have always enjoyed the professionalism of service we... have received from Charlene and her staff at these events. From the excellent food selections we have enjoyed and been served tothe ambiance and atmosphere that Charlene and her team provides, it allows one to have a delightful experience That exceedsanywhere else in the Valley! While attending a wedding and reception 2 weeks ago, we can only say that once again, Charlene andher team of service professionals have outdone themselves! Thank you again Charlene and all of your Staff for going up and abovefor a wonderful evenings experience of a high quality Of food, facility, and friendliness that is always enjoyed by all inattendance at any of the Gold Canyon Golf Resort events! Ended up just driving home at midnight instead of staying here. The outside of the resort is beautiful but the rooms are in... desperate need of updating and sound proofing. There was a significant musty smell and felt like a 2 star hotel with 4 starsquare footage (big rooms and cool layouts at least). It feels like it was built in the 80s and just never updated or caredfor. Clean, but never cared for or updated. Food at the restaurant is very very good, one of the bartenders we had was amazing(can?t remember her name though), and the wait staff is great - the manager was not the best though. Everything closes early andopens late in the morning, even on the weekends, making it difficult to have events here or larger groups. With better hoursand renovated rooms, this place could be amazing. It?s just not right now. Read more
