The staff were fine- no complaints there. Everything else was completely underwhelming. It is essentially a fryer basket. The... sludge is renamed a 'platter' and sold for $20. Drive to DQ in Trimble ten minutes away and you can get the same. THIS IS JUST AREVIEW OF THE RESTUARANT, and not a reflection of my trip to Burr Oak itself. Read more

We waited 40 min for our food, a hair in the salad, grill cheese was cold. Rarely saw the waitress definitely not friendly. She... didn't even apologize for the issues but did give 20% off, which prices were fairly average at least what was expected. I wasn'tlooking for that just letting them know. My hamburger was burnt and the service was slow. The rest of our stay at Bur Oak was great.

Had breakfast at Burr Oak lodge ?Cardinal Resturant?. The menu looked appetizing, but the food was not. We got there around... 10am. Breakfast is served until 11am which is nice. Not many people there. We ordered right off the menu, nothing special. Ittook over 45 minutes to get our food. I kept telling the kids it gives us more family time together, trying to stay positive!Iknew it wasn?t going to be good when I spread the butter on my French toast and it didn?t melt at all. Yep- cold. My hashbrowns- which looked like little frozen potato chunks were barely warm. Same with my eggs. My husband?s eggs which were overeasy- were hard except a very small center. His food was just barely warm as well. Sausage gravy & biscuits- barely warm. Granddaughter had an omelette. It looked really good, but again just warm???? very disappointing since we were hungry!! As the main dining room in the Burr Oak Lodge, we were delighted. It's a casual setting with a central bar. We got served on off... hours between 2-5pm, to a limited menu, which was welcomed by our large party. We were happy with pizzas, salads and adultbeverages. The breakfast buffet, not included, was great too. Breakfast starts at 8am but staff was accommodating to our grab &go. There's also limited outside seating to enjoy nature and the lake views.
